Democratic Base Fissures
Although attention has been focused on McCain's problems with the GOP base, there are indications that some Democrats might defect if Obama is the party's nominee. Overall, 20% of white Democratic voters say they would vote for McCain if Obama is the Democratic nominee. That is twice the percentage of white Democrats who say they would support McCain in a Clinton-McCain matchup. Older Democrats (ages 65 and older), lower-income and less educated Democrats also would support McCain at higher levels if Obama rather than Clinton is the party's nominee.

Interesting. Very interesting. Take it with a grain of salt. This could be a false flag piece.
BWAHAHA. Good! Let them. It's about time American politics was cleaned of this phoney issue. Better it happens on the side it comes from from.
Hillary and Bill will rig elections in key states. You can bet on it.
LoL! You expect them to learn from this?
Now the white male democrats owe Obama an apology.
If McCain wins, we will never see another Conservative candidate in our lifetimes.
“...probably more than 20%.”
My thoughts, exactly. I think the poll should read “only 20 percent of Democrats were honest enough to admit that they would vote for McCain.
If McCain wins, we might actually control the Supreme Court for the first time in any of our lifetimes.
...and if Obam wins we may not live a lifetime.
This should send some liberals into orbit...
The Holy Messiah Obama must not be denied...
Doyathink?
“I actually know some of those 20% dems. I may assure you, they may be many things, but they are not racists. Obama looks to them as politically correct ramming pole for the forces they can not vote for.”
I do too but look for the MSM to find some racist examples to say they won’t vote for him just because he is black. Of course they will also find people to say “I’ve always voted Republican but now I’m going to vote for Obama” too.
I, for one, will not trust the man that gave us the Gangrene of 14 and the comments about Alito to pick a good judge, much less a Justice. He'll pick someone his friends in the Senate will not thing "too extreme."
>>”...have spoken with quite a few life long democrates who said they would never vote for Barak.”
Me too. Isn’t is amazing. They talk the liberal left-wing talk but ske-daddle sideways when it come time to vote!
But Obama is GUARANTEED to appoint activist leftists.
How can guaranteeing that you do not take control of the Supreme Court further the conservative cause? How is that possible?
If you are old enough, you don't have to look it up. You rely on your (perhaps faulty) memory.
As I remember it, Negroes (the polite term at the time) voted predominantly republican until Lyndon Johnson got credit (with enough republican votes to make up for southern democrats) for passing the Civil Rights Act. Al Gore Sr, Democrat of Tennessee, was among the senators voting against.
Since then, the civil rights race-baiters have aligned with democrats. The overwhelming majority of African-Americans went along with them.
I will not be cowed into voting for McCain.
HA! You're right! Why would I expect that? In a weird way, this could work to our advantage. Obama is just too left, and a good portion of the Democrats that were solid Clinton supporters are not going there.
Obama's going to be one of those candidates that really messes up the boundaries. I can see a lot of independents going for him just on the basis of, "Oh, what the heck, give the new guy a shot."
But a lot of Democrat partisans are going to have a hard time with this one.
Because I GUARANTEE that McCain will pick activist Leftists also.
