the dem’s don’t get the blame for the current economic stuff - the subprime mess evolved under GOP congressional control and is the major cause of the varied economic issues at work.
Oil does its own thing as well for various political and market reasons, apart from the fact a falling dollar makes it more expensive in dollars.
But as far as the CDO/subprime stuff, the GOP and Greenspan deserve much of the credit for this disaster, aside of course from the banking, rating, and insurance sectors.
