Sen. Hillary Clinton has road-tested several versions of attacks on Sen. Barack Obama that don't work. Obviously, and first, don't come out against change and hope the perennial themes of successful election campaigns. Even my old boss, Ronald Reagan, campaigned for re-election in 1984 in response to the claim that America needed to change on the phrase "We ARE the change" (as well as on the hopeful theme of "morning in America").

That is a great quote and it is also very, very true.
I think a major factor that contributed to several versions of attacks on Sen. Barack Obama not working is that it was Hillary who was doing the attacking...
"Mr. Obama is tapping into a curious alchemy of youthful idealism tempered by Internet edginess. Republicans must communicate their values and policies through that prism or they will not communicate at all.
And why the youthful optimism? They earn too little to even pay income taxes. Here is the appeal to low wage earners who pay no income taxes:
Barack Obama's Plan
Provide a "Making Work Pay Tax Cut" for America's Working Families
". . . Obama will create a new "Making Work Pay" tax credit of up to $500 per person, or $1,000 per working family. This refundable income tax credit will provide direct relief to American families who face the regressive payroll tax system. It will offset the payroll tax on the first $8,100 of their earnings. . ."
The "payroll tax".
No politician has ever mentioned it in a campaign. I doubt Osama will. But you can bet all those teenie boppers working part time, texting back and forth, and expect to never see Social Security, will vote to be rebated the "hidden tax" everyone pays.

Judging from McCains back tracking off Bill Cunninghams intro yesterday that he McCain is a fast learner.
I agree with the article. There is going to be plenty of talking heads making the charge that Conservatives are Intolerant, Racist, bigots....i.e., do you believe for a min that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton aren’t chomping at the bit to play the race card against the Republican?
Anyway I think Obama’s words are going to eventually be his undoing. A great debate is going to be, how will he react to the next “Inevitable” terror attack on America? His rhetoric indicates it may be something akin to:
and to those people that caused the untimely deaths of these many Americans, those with whom we respectfully disagree, they will be getting a stern talking to soon.
Keep on him. Keep on him until he slips or until he admits the truth.

It can be done!
On the surface, Obama isn't a threatening figure to most Americans. Too bad most Americans never pay attention to political details until its too late. Obama offers nothing but the same old worn out liberalism of class warfare and social engineering that has run down America for the last 40 years. Between his simplistic rhetoric and cool demeanor, Obama has revealed himself as the most liberal candidate the Dems have ever considered nominating for POTUS. That makes him an ultimate danger to America's future stability.
IMO, Obama is a political lightweight, an empty suit and a demagogue. When the time comes, McCain has to expose the fallacy of Obama, or we're all in store for a shift leftward that will make ALL past Democrat administrations pale in comparison.
We need new men in the Rightwing media.
