Guh...I know of which you speak. I have a colleague whose spouse bought into the whole hippie "let the child set the agenda" bullhonkey. And for their trouble, they have a 4-year-old who still isn't toilet trained and is fixing to grow up to be a perfect little sociopath. And these were the people who hounded me to pledge that I would never spank our child. Took everything I had not to reply, "I'm sorry...you're in no position to lecture anyone on good parenting."

One of my husbands coworkers is in the same boat. They have an 9 year old daughter who still cannot read. Not due to lack of ability, but rather the mother is homeschooling and is waiting for the child to be “spiritually ready to read”. I won’t even get into the discipline problems they are having. It’s actually pretty sad.

there isn’t a problem in our society that can’t be traced to some shortsighted liberal idea.
