Florida Power & Light is reporting massive power outages throughout South Florida, including Miami, Doral, Westchester, and Pembroke Pines. Reports of outages extended into Palm Beach, an FPL spokeswoman said.
The company said it was investigating the problem.
As I recall, they figured out what happened and why, and it had nothing to do with security.
“Im working on whiskey and Coke. Thanks for the advice! :)’
Good. One thing for sure is that nine months after an extended power outage there is a swam of births.
It's interesting to hear his take on the whole China and cyber terror thing tho. Take or leave what he says (I usually do when I listen to him) but interesting none the less.
“Well, I just spoke to Mr. Mew. Considering we’re talking about FL, he was all ready to blame gators. Hmmmm, then again, who knows.”
Well..that could be it!! I ran into some articles while ‘googling’ about alligators breeding at Turkey Point Nuclear Plant.
Tell Mr. Mew he is a pretty smart dude!
FEMA needs practice. Lots of practice.
Here it is:

I just wish FNC did not add to the hysteria and have more facts. The story today on shark attack (fifty miles off the coast of Fort Lauderdale today was just stupid and hysterical. They had some dude on that pointed out that 50 miles off the coast of Fort Lauderdale is The Bahamas. Megan would have none off it. Then they had a shot of a small school of what looked like blacktips or maybe bulls and was wondering why anyone would swim in FL. They do this all the time. No sense of science, geography or engineering. And anything to feed panic into a minor disturbance. The only thing they did was lamblast Miami drivers

Did anything pop up re: Port of Miami?
Just asking.
I saw that interview. Megan was almost ANGRY that the guy kept pointing out it was in the Bahama’s NOT Florida waters.

Check this out, from 2002...
Mentions TP and crocs.
No problemo in Duval County, but we sure had a nasty squall line go through.
I know what done it: Croczilla!
The trade off is a huge intertwined grid that would handle loads faster but that would be very expensive and would string power-lines in places people would not want. The trade off is the occasional cascade and ignorant people seeing black helicopters.
In the Navy I was an IC-man on one of the first 1200lb steam systems. It took the EMs a bit of work to get it dialed in. And this was a micro grid compared to what the power companies run these days.
“Are they wearing tinfoil hats too? ;)”
Dunno..but I have mine riveted to my head just in case’......LOL
“No way. FEMA?? For THIS?!?!
Geeesh. What nonsense.”
There was a story that after Charley (which hit Punta Gorda and missed Miami by 300 miles and a whole coast) there was a man that owned a liquor store in a section of Miami that had three or four upstairs apartments. He claimed that each resident got over $200,000 in FEMA checks. I am not surprised. When there is any excuse the Congresscritters from Miami are on the phone to DC.
