It isn’t fat cats or the Eastern elite or any such which is telling conservatives to drop dead; it’s the ordinary rank and file pubbie voter. Conservatives need to examine all of their positions and see if there might be any sort of a rational cause for it.

Well the rank and file voters are only bringing out about half the votes for McCain’s primary wins as Hillary is losing with. The rank and file have left the Grand Old Plantation.

The conservatives
are the rank and file.
The rest will find that out in the aftermath of the bloodbath of 08.

This is exactly right: we don’t have the rank-and-file votes and apparently never did. It’s not really the elites doing this but the simple and uninformed registered Republican voters. I think they are more liberal than even they thought themselves to be.

Because we do not embrace socialism like you and your cohorts, you now attempt to lay the blame on the coming destruction of the Republican Party on Conservatives... no sale... NO CONSERVATIVE alive will embrace what you are trying to define Conservatism as today. You and your team are no better than osama and the ‘toonville sycophants.

Conservatives need to examine all of their positions and see if there might be any sort of a rational cause for it. Trumpeting your ignorance in the name of appeasing the various causes of Marxism is hardly a position of rectitude.

You have got to be kidding.
If anyone has thought out thier positions, it is a conservative.
Maybe you need to wander down a few web-sites and find a GOP site that better suits your "Party over Principle" philosophy.

When a husband beats his wife do you blame her for it? When a young woman walking in public alone at night gets raped, is your first question; “what was she wearing?”

Ronald Reagan used to explain the reason for GOP policies. No one does that now. President Bush certainly doesn’t. Instead, let’s just chase the Democrats leftward.

Well stated!
Maybe, because the forum breaks news to the masses faster than network and cable can keep up? Perhaps THAT'S why 'we' have an inflated sense of power and importance as a voting bloc?
I consider myself Conservative. I'll gladly support John McCain with all his warts...under the current circumstances we face in the world today.
For that level of conservative that can't say, "Okay, I'll vote for you, but you owe us BIG TIME"....you must seriously consider they have a mental illness and need intervention.
But, let's just keep that between us, okay? ;^)
