education and history I tell my kids about History a great deal, anyway he knows about the real causes of the civil war I bet more than most adults and he's ten Anyway today he told about the teacher going on about black history month and the teacher called them african americans He stood up and said in front of the class, Miss why do you call blacks african americans when in fact some africans are white so there fore some white africans who become american citizens would be white He said the two teachers just looked at each other and finally said that is a good point Matthew In have never heard it put that way Proud is not the word I have when he told me He did have a good point and the teacher knew that now if only more could teach history and other subjects without being sheep. Just look at some Obama voters they have no idea who they have voted for yet they voted because the media says he is [popular sorry to hear about your father
My Dad died in 1999 but thanks. I’m sure he’s spinning in his grave now and he couldn’t stand McCain back in the 90s from what I recall. I’m thinking he’d vote for him against hillary or obama, though.
We don’t really teach history anymore. My teens get it in high school at the honors level and we discuss it at home.
