Cotton, I don't blame McCain for being himself. The blame in this election belongs entirely to conservatives who early on had 2 conservative candidates and would not get behind one of them. We had Duncan Hunter and we had Fred Thompson, and I am CERTAIN that an early rallying behind one of those two, instead of the nit-picking down to the tiniest detail of their blemishes, was has us now with a "name recognition" candidate. The blame for our dilemma lies squarely on our own shoulders. Sure, everyone should feel free to vote their conscience, but what we really need to do is look at how to fix for the future what we screwed up in this primary campaign. We MUST HAVE a conservative caucus within the Republican Party that SEPARATELY decides early on who is its standard bearer. That would be the Valley Forge Republicans, if we would just do it. And if we won't do that, then we need a new Conservative Republican Party that seeks to overthrow the old tired Rino Republican Party. As already stated, "McCain is another compassionate conservative, rino. At least he’s pro-life, pro-gun, balanced budget, and pro-defense. I cannot say that about the other two. "

You guys overplayed your Shamnesty card and nobody is buying it. America is not terrified that Paco is doing the manual labor like you are. Cheap labor is a necessity and most Americans realize it. We are not going to deport every Mexican, get over it.

You must be drunk. McCain voted AGAINST the Cornyn amendment. You can check this out. As outrageous as it sounds, it is true. Also, you might want to look into McCain’s actions - or nonactions - regarding the POW/MIA issues.

The most appealing thing about McCain is that he probably won’t run for reelection in 2012.

>They have nothing intelligent to say, and inevitably resort to bizarre & stupid insults when confronted with logic & reasoning.

“If we run a traditional consultant-dominated tactical Republican campaign, like we’ve seen in the last eight years, we will be defeated this fall, and we will be having a CPAC meeting next year talking about how we rebuild for the future with either President Obama or President Clinton in charge.”
-Newt Gingrich

From Malkin’s blog:
CPAC is a joke. Conservative Political Action Conference? Let’s see. Conservative speakers:

John McCain – WHAT?
Ron Paul – WTH?

Is this the best CPAC can do for conservatives?
Sorry, I am at a loss.

Mark Steyn I understand. There are MANY conservatives that can be given a platform that make sense.
If conservatives are going to rally to the cause of conservatives then, we should rally conservatives to the cause and not bring in a liberal in sheep clothing to rally conservatives to a liberal’s cause. Sheesh.

The Repubs in DC have torpedoed the conservative base.
McCain will bury the remains when he picks someone like Rudy to be his VP.
At that point I will be inclined to say:

We deserve everything we get.

--------------------------------------
A recent post by yours truly:

"The left wants true examples of staunch left wing candidates, and now they have two of them.
They certainly differ in style, but less in substance.
Most Dems want the most leftist/liberal/progressive candidate that they can get, and right now, that would be Obama.

I envy that they can go out and vote for a candidate that they are, or can be, proud of, and confident that they will uphold true liberal/Socialist policies.

We have nothing to be proud of, other than hold your nose and vote for me because I’m not hillary, and the incredible bombast of K street GOP elitists like Crystal who smirk at us and say: “what are they going to do, vote for hillary?”

Well, no sir, I am not, but here is what I am not going to do:
Crawl on bloody knees over broken glass to elect a candidate that I am proud of, and would be equally proud to defend in open debate with any liberal trash.

I cannot do that because there is no such candidate.

Either of the choices for the dems are win/win for them and they are going to the polls in droves.
The cash and support is flowing in like the Nile river, the media is primed, and they are chomping at the bit, eager and ready for the fray.

Hey, don’t worry at all.

In short order those mexicans are going to deport the GOP right out of America and then this discussion will never need to happen again.

“What matters is what he is saying now. Because that is the standard to which he will be expected to hold as President.”

Good luck with that.

“The only way we’re going to end that is by holding a national primary. Be careful what you wish for..”

Having all primaries on the same day would be a bad thing?

“Catulus, The kind of help (hope!) Obama will send would be even worse. “

Same help from the same place.

“The man worships Caesar Chavez, for crying out loud!”

You mean Che, right? Castro’s executioner? Cesar Chavez was arguably more conservative than either of these three. He was very much against illegal immigration.

But time marches on.

And with Obama as plan "B", I think most of us will put away the hatchet and hold our nose and pull the lever for McCain.

Dueling cliches :>)

However, What goes up must come down

Once you pull the lever down, be aware that it springs back up.

(Means absolutely nothing, but who cares when you're play "dueling cliches!")

I still like the security of knowing the “dangerous level of mental instability” is ours and not having to guess if a decision was insane or just fleeting alzheimer’s.

It is absolutely the conservatives’ fault InSain is the candidate. Their message Stinks right now.

They have jettisoned so many out of the movement you can put the entire lot in a single Grave.

The message is: Your not a true conservative like me!

Pray for W and Our Troops

Che, yes. And Caesar Chavez, who, of course, was no executioner. But listen to Obama. You’re going to have a foreign policy based on the perogatives of the AFL-CIO.

Bothered?

The simple fact of 20 - 30 million third world socialists voting in a whole new era of socialist spending and converting the US to a de facto 3rd world nation is not a matter of “bother.”

It is a simple matter of election demographic fact.

And I am preparing for it.

Your question makes my point. - I advise that you be mentally, if not physically prepared, for this coming reality.
