1. One who has never experienced the pleasures of adware, spyware, viruses or bloatware on his own computer.
2. One who has never witnessed the "blue screen of death" on his own computer.
3. One who doesn't have to reload the system SW on his own computer once a month because it has slowed to a crawl from of all the adware, spyware, viruses and bloatware.
I fit all three of the definitions. I guess I'm a snob.
Me too, I suppose, though not in the sense you’re looking for. I’ve been using the same computer for nearly seven years now (installed XP almost as soon as it came out) with no problems. You’re implying only Mac users have that experience while knuckle-dragging PC users routinely have to deal with constant crashes, reboots, viruses, kicks to the groin, and so on. If only they were smart enough to realize Mac OS X is out there! Throw down some extra money for that pretty white box and all will be well.
I have to say I don’t understand the Mac “chip on the shoulder” bit that this video speaks to and so many people here on this thread make clear. Who cares what computer system you use? Both systems have problems, security and otherwise. I just don’t see PC users running around with something to prove because of what operating system they run. It’s really no different than the Starbucks/Mercedes/Volvo/Hybrid Car/Whatever mentality where people want or need recognition based on the products they use.
Get over it.

Another snob here, I guess.
Talk about “reloading software”...
I got this g4 in March of 2004. At that time, I re-initialized and partitioned the internal hard drive, after which I had to do a reinstall of the software (OS 10.3.2).
Since that time, I have use Apple’s “software update” to download and upgrade the original system as updates were released. I do the “usual things”, like repairing permissions - and I also like to defrag and optimize my boot drive from time to time (although I know that the Mac OS doesn’t require this).
Yet, for almost FOUR YEARS now, I have been running on the original software installation (updated periodically), and have NEVER done a complete re-install of the System Software. It’s still running along just fine, now at version 10.3.9, where it will remain.
Does it work that well on PC’s? :)
