OUTBREAK: Leprosy in Arkansas – Brought Here by Whom?
Family Security Matters ^ | 2/18,2008 | Renee Taylor

In an emergency room in Arkansas, the patient exhibits dark red boils, her skin numb. Another case of leprosy in America. Not far away, a tuberculosis-infected illegal immigrant coughs while on break at the local chicken processing plant – spreading his infectious germs across the break room table. His children, also carrying the disease, which had been all but eradicated from the United States years ago, join hundreds of children at the local public school. Crossing the Mexican border, in a pickup truck filled with “migrant workers” coming to “do the jobs Americans don’t do” in our fields and food processing plants, is the Islamic terrorist who purposefully infected himself with smallpox in order to spread the deadly disease to unsuspecting Americans nationwide.

Fact or fiction? Well over 12 million illegal aliens have invaded our country from our southern border, circumventing the strict health requirements that are enforced for those entering legally – requirements that include ensuring the entrants are free from infectious diseases. Our own government continues its push to give them legitimacy, in some cases welcoming them with open arms under the guise of “they are doing the work Americans just don’t do.” However, we don’t know who they are – or what horrific contagions they may have brought with them.

I recall some early stories of this and the doctors were suspecting this leprosy outbreak started after some people in this town returned from a mission trip in the South Pacific or something like that.

Don’t forget the little tape worms they’re bringing.

An interesting thing about tapeworms - when they lay eggs, those eggs get into the blood stream and some travel to your brain. Once there they grow like a brain tumor.

The surgery is very expensive but if you are an illegal, IT’S FREE!

Need to change the title to reflect the role of illegals bringing this dread into the US.

I have read that part of the reason we have these outbreaks is because our invaders from the south do not practice the same health and hygeine habits we do.
Little worms - how simply GROSS....

Our hero nominee Juan McCain sure doesn’t give a rat’s ass if the US citizen’s get leprosy or TB.

This will be the new plague on the US. Selfish, power hungry people are in charge.

All of us are going to pay as we watch our children and grandchildren die from diseases we had pretty much eradicated.

To think that there are people posting here on this forum who want to try to shame me into voting for a man without a conscience. You can’t have a conscience if you can pretend there is something high minded and noble about turning your back on the health and safety of your own citizens.

I am for closed borders as much as anyone, but this is a non story designed to scare people.

The Marshall Islanders are good Christian people who’s homeland was used by us to test many dozens of nuclear weapons. Leprosy isn’t a threat to the general population and the Marshall Islanders aren’t illegal.

I know first hand that the illegal children attending our school do not get immunizations. Here in San Diego we are seeing an outbreak of measles for this reason.

All the diseases that my children were inoculated against, and had been eradicated, are now back. Illegal immigration is directly responsible.

When I lived in Yemen I knew of a leper colony founded by the Sisters of Charity of Mother Teresa. It was called the City of Light situated near the town of Taiz.

Just like in biblical times, lepers are shunned by society and have to take care of themselves until they die. These nuns taught them to till the ground and became more or less self-sufficient.

I understand that leprosy is not the dreaded desease it once was - it is not curable but it can be made non-communicable. Yet, the problem in Arkansas is a serous one.

Ah, how wonderful multi-culturalism can be. Thank the feds with their nationally destructive immigration policy.

Leprosy is caused by bacteria. It is cured with antibiotics. The nerve and tissue damage cannot be reversed, but the disease is relatively easy to cure.

My husband recently came down with chicken pox. Everyone in the family has had the disease. Most kids now are immunized from chicken pox. He evidently caught it from someone in a public place. As an adult the disease can be terrible, but he went to the doctor immediately and was given Valtrex which is used for the STD herpes. This drug shortens the duration and the severity of the disease.
