Actually, let's think about that for a moment.
The fellow pulled his weapon and held the folks at gunpoint. A good result, because the punks held still. I'm glad he was armed, and that he interevened, and I'm glad he held the nice people for the cops.
Here's the question: how far was the fellow prepared to go, if one or more of the punks refused to cooperate? Would he have been justified in shooting if the punks began to run?
When I think about concealed carry, I think about that sort of thing. Are folks trained and prepared to think through the "what next" aspects of actually drawing their weapons?
I'm all for normal folks being armed. I really hope folks will take the responsibility to get that sort of training. But I suspect that most do not, and that's too bad.
