Appearing on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" Sunday, senator John McCain tried to qualify his remark from 2005 that senator Hillary Clinton "would make a good president."

"

The likely Republican presidential nominee said Clinton "would be a good president in the respect that I think she has integrity, I think she has all of the qualities that are necessary, but she has a very different philosophical view, the liberal Democratic view, than I have, which is conservative Republican."

In all seriousness, anybody that says Hillary Clinton has integrity is either completely deluded, or they have no integrity themselves.

And the attempt to redefine being a Conservative continues unabated.

You know, John, some of us are taking a lot of flack for supporting you because you would be preferable to the dems--could you stop making it even harder for us to say we grudgingly support you?

His intense desire to "end the partisanship" is one of his least-attractive qualities...and he has many.

I don’t like McCain, but this could be his strategy of choosing weaker opponent.

You got that exactly right.

Don't I know it.

McCain has one of the most bizarre political philosophies I can think of. He seems inordinately influenced by perceived slights--McCain-Feingold and his ongoing campaign finance obsession are all about his feeling wronged by Bush in the 200 election, and his residual feelings about the keating Five.

He is so good on abortion, yet so awful on free speech--my two big issues.

"I still think there’s a good chance he’ll offer VP to Huckabee."

I doubt it. But what if he does? The prospect doesn't thrill me very much.

The likely Republican presidential nominee said Clinton “would be a good president in the respect that I think she has integrity, I think she has all of the qualities that are necessary, but she has a very different philosophical view, the liberal Democratic view, than I have, which is conservative Republican.”

Nothing in the above has any dose of reality to it.

John McCain is not a “conservative Republican.” Hillary does not have “integrity.” Hillary does not have “all of the qualities that are necessary” to be president. Hillary does not have “a very different philosophical view.”

John McCain is has some idiotic thinking if he said or believes those things. They are all very provably wrong.

"she has integrity"

Well, isn't that a great way to reach out to conservatives!
