OK folks, where should we go from here? Do we continue to post the YouTube video, and the articles about the YouTube video, here on Free Republic?

We've had to pull some articles about this, all sourced to the YouTube video. Some were pulled because they were from porn sites. One site was blocked tonight because of other disgusting content.

Is Free Republic above this or do we want it to be true so badly that we'll post anything about this from any source?

If we're going to discuss this topic we should at least ask for more proof.

Just my opinion but...I have no problem with pulling multiple threads that do nothing more than link to the U-tube video. The idea of pulling all articles on this subject because of "lack of proof" or "hurting reputation" however leads to wondering why these are allowed to stand on FR:

The printed word was all we once had in doing a story. This type of video has no worth, true or false

In this instance, it is not only the video itself that is being challenged as warranting any further mention on FR, but any written reference to it as well.

For full disclosure, I must admit I have not yet seen the video in question........perhaps I should just keep my pie hole shut until I do.

Well, what do we have?

1). An admitted drug abuser saying unsupported things about a man who has been an elected official for some time. Yet he never came forward before?

2). The website that is offering money to the guy is a former adult site.

It stinks to high heavens of rank desperation, in my opinion. We should let that desperation fall on the Clinton’s shoulders where it belongs and probably originated, not those of conservatives. Conservatives are better than this.

I would think you could post news articles where he acknowledges trying cocaine in High School.

And I would think that you should be free to discourage Freepers from voting for Obama - (not that they should need to be told that).

You've answered your own question. Yes, the YouTube video in question is a loose canon that can potentially make Free Republic look like the National Enquirer. Get rid of it.
