The child was not “left out” in the elements, and it certainly was NOT legally adopted. Emma was there as were other children to care for it. It’s twin had already succumbed just days prior, to the raveges of the same illness.

Mormons distort history often, this story is another example just as in the examples of Paul H. Dunn, or Thomas S. Monson,.... Lying for the Lord.

Ah yes in the days of no central heating. The fact that the door was broken open and the freezing wind came in all night had nothing to do with the fact that the child died. You do realize that in a court of law the mob would easily be convicted of murder. It's like when bank robbers accidently kill someone through their actions (in the commission of a felony) though they didn't really intend to kill anyone just get the load of cash.

Perhaps the biggest irony here though is the fact that someone who claims to be pro-life on a conservative forum is trying to explain away the murder of a baby. Keep it up Johnnie Cochran. Or are you only pro-life when they are fetuses? Infants are fair game? This is the perfect example of how your mind has been warped by your obsession with bashing all things Mormon.
