Clemens fighting to save ...
Fox Sports ^ | Feb 2, 08 | Jason Whitlock

If Roger Clemens is lying — which I tend to believe he is — then his major crime is being unable to imagine a life worth living without constant, pervasive fan adulation.

Seriously, if the guy isn't telling the truth, all he's really fighting for is the right to show up in any restaurant in America and get a table without waiting, a round of drinks on the house and some groupie telling him he's the greatest.

He's a crackhead, a celebrity addicted to human lips resting on the crack of his/her rear end.

And, as we know, crackheads do dumb stuff, like spend a week in the nation's capital whining and dining lying politicians, begging them to believe that the game's greatest pitcher took B-12 shots in the butt, not steroids.

No one, and I mean no one, lies more frequently and boldly than a crackhead in search of his next hit/kiss of the rear.

He mentions many famous liars, even O.J., in this ariticle. Sadly, he omits one 'unusually good liar'; and this article fits him to a T.

For now I am giving Roger the benefit of the doubt.

I've been saying for years that Clemens was juiced. But this author misses the boat on why, I think. Clemens doesn't give a rat's ass about adulation. He cares about winning, being the best, and making boatloads of money, and he plays a sport where probably close to half the players if not more are juicing, popping pills, or otherwise cheating to get where they are and stay there.

In my view, his ballsy defense is just more of Clemens' rabid competitiveness on parade. Give in? Fess up? Screw that. He'll fight til the very end. He's a maniacal competitor. That's why he does it.

I'm not apologizing for him. I think he's a jock a-hole, but I don't think he does it for fan adulation. I think he probably has little regard for fans.

It was just about 21 years ago when Roger Clemens made it clear just what sort of person that he really is. At least that was so to me at the time.

He held out on Spring Training for more dough despite the fact that he was obliged by contract to appear and play.

The man is no good, and as time has gone on, he has made that more and more evident.

Let him go on and perjure himself before Congress. Those cretins in DC will do nothing to him because he is as one of their own.

Mark my words, Clemens will be deemed a liar, and proved a substance user, and still he will walk.

That is just how things work these days.

In the 2009 Season Clemens will win 26 Games, Strike Out 325 and Hit .396.

Of course that will not be in the American League or the American League but rather the Federal League.

The Federal Prison League.

All you need to see is an early photo with a later one to show how his head and jaw have grown. This is a definite sign of HGH.

Early Career

Late Career

“Clemons is as guilty as hell.”

Guilty of what??? Human growth hormone is not against the law. Used every day for medical purposes. Pot is against the law, even if proved it helps glaucoma.

Clemons is guilty, perhaps, of lying to Congress. If I recall we had a President that did the same thing, and he gopt away with it.

.....Bob

That will finish him if a charge sticks.

"Shocking /s"

I know, I know. LoL.

At the time for me personally though, incredibly, it made a difference.

I was getting divorced, and I was not OK with that. My kids were very young, and Boston Red Sox fans are ...Well what they are.

I no longer consider myself to be a Red Sox fan, but back in those days, Clemens was just....well...perhaps a catalyst for my current opinion of that particular sports enterprise.

I would not give a nickel to go to a Red Sox game now, and that has been so for just about 20 years now. And I have been to many many games at Fenway Park.

Please pardon syntax and structure. This is a sports comment here.

He’s guilty of using perfromance enhancing drugs/substances. It has nothing to do with legality.

HGH is not allowed in MLB you maroon. Whether legal or not, MLB does not allow its use.

HGH and Steroids were allowed in MLB until a couple of years ago. You have to separate the Federal legal aspect from the MLB legal aspect.
