Not quite. You misunderstand the democratic voting block of AA voters.
I asked a co-worker (who is quite afrocentric) and I asked her if OBH is destroyed in the primaries by HRC will she still vote for HRC? She said absolutely. I asked why? She wouldn't give me a straight answer. But she said muttered something about "give the country a change"
I retorted "I hope you like the change in your tax status, 'cause that will be the first one...."

“We ought to just do away with elections and just let the drive-by media choose our leaders. They have chosen the candidates for us this year. Un-damned believable.”
It suprises me that people do not get it.
Why do you think the media chose McCain for us? Could it be because of the 500 threads here saying if McCain is the nominee we are staying home? Hmm?
All I am reading, hearing, seeing is Conservative talk show hosts saying if he is the nominee we should all stay home. Hmm.... Now who would benefit by that? Hmm... Now who does the MSM support?
Wake up people! Our emotions are being played with and they are using our own principles against us.

Amen. After 9-11 I can’t believe Americans would vote for anyone with even a HINT of an Islamic past. Obama can say all he wants how he’s a Christian, but I’ll never trust him. And if you read what his church in Chicago believes about Africa it makes him even worse. Check out Trinity United Church of Christ at http://www.tucc.org/about.htm.

Here is what I would LOVE to see. Obama goes to the convention in the lead. However, the superdelegates give Clinton their support thus making her the winner. That would alienate the black vote more than anything! I would be concerned that such an event might to more than merely "alienate" blacks. If such an event happened, I would be likely to avoid driving through any black areas until I was sure what the reaction was

No one has the crookedness and corruption of the clinton machine. If she gets the nomination, it would be impossible to beat her. Impossible. Is it possible she would try to sabotage Obama's general election campaign, on the view that if a weak Republican got in, she would be in a better position for 2012?

She wouldn't give me a straight answer. But she said muttered something about "give the country a change" I retorted "I hope you like the change in your tax status, 'cause that will be the first one...." I think the reason your afro-centric co-worker won't give you a straight answer, is because the answer is that she's hoping that a Dem administration will impose more draconian "affirmative action" requirements on businesses, which will have the short-term result of increasing her promotion chances. The long-term effect, of course, will be to encourage more businesses to move off shore, but she's not bright enough to see that
I once had a very Afro-centric co-worker. He was going on and on about the African Egyptians. He didn't like it when I pointed out to him that West Africans (as in blacks who came to America) were unlikely to have any significant Egyptian ancestry. Meanwhile, as I was of Italian ancestry, and the Roman empire maintained a lot of commerce with Egypt, with probably lots of Roman sailors bringing home Egyptian wives, and Egyptian sailors stopping at Italian ports, I was much more likely to have Egyptian ancestry than him

If you've read the "Left Behind" series then you'll remember a character named Nicolae Carpathia. Obama reminds me of that character.

Abc news! HILLARY CLINTON CAMPAIGN MANAGER PATTY SOLIS DOYLE ANNOUNCES SHE’S STEPPING DOWN AS CAMPAIGN MANAGER

I just do not know what the dynamic in Pa will be.
If he carries 80% of the black vote and splits the liberal white trash, then he should take pa since most of the black dems power is in Philly and Pittsburgh. - Black mayors.
And I don’t see that happening. - not to say that it can’t, just saying that there is something else in play that I do not see.

No. It would be so if we had a real candidate to oppose her stands, but with all of her faults the best the GOP can come up with is McCain??
Crap, another Dole, and even way less liked by the base!
Sorry, he isn’t going to beat her, and I do not at all believe the popular wisdom that Obama is some demigod who cannot be overcome.
I believe that McCain could actually beat him handily, due to a number of intrinsic factors unique to his candidacy in the general.

Clintons crying aside, Obamas nomination would be very bad for the GOP (and the USA) in the general election. Im hoping that Hillary will catch up, but I doubt it. She is the easier candidate to beat. Remember this CLINTON NEVER GOT 50% OF THE NATIONAL VOTE IN 2 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS. Hillarys will be even less. Shes easy to beat.
An Obama nomination on the other hand will be tough to beat.
This is especially true now that Conservatives are split over John McCain. Even as he is reaching out to us, many of us are spitting at the hand that he reached out for the simple reason that he needs to be PUNISHED.
All the good things he did in the past - Being a stalwart Reagan foot soldier, being staunchly pro-life, voting for every single Bush judge and justice appointee, defending Bushs policy in Iraq even when it was unpopular, etc. are FORGOTTEN or GLOSSED OVER in order to focus on his heresies.
Thanks for stating explicitly what I've been thinking, as I watch the back and forth in both FR and the media at large.
I see either Hillbilly or Obama as a disaster for the country, yet the various GOP camps are attacking each other like rabid dogs. I'm an Arizonan and I don't particularly care for McCain, but I'll certainly vote for him if he's nominated. Anyone who seriously thinks (or thought) that Huckabee could ever win belongs in the Bob Dole hall of fame.
Yet there are many professed Republicans who flat-out state they'll sit on their hands before they'll pull the lever for McCain! Why don't 2/3 of us simply cut off our noses to spite our face?

I couldn’t agree more and have been saying for a while. We don’t want to go up against Obama. Ann C. is right when she says that even if we lose, which would be close, Hilde would be a less dangerous Prez.
I think we could survive Hilde and take it away in 2012.
