I think this proves only one thing: Senator McCain needs to continue to make his case in convincing conservatives that he’s one of them. He’s already made a good start and I think that the telling fact is that many prominent strong conservatives are rallying around him.
I think that once the rancor of the primaries die down, most conservatives will start seeing things more clearly and less bitterly.
To: Def Conservative
The fact that he could not win Kansas today given the overwhelming odds of his nomination support the poll’s results.

(I will NEVER EVER vote for McCain or any other current Senator.)

The last conservative presidential nominee was Ronaldus Magnus. That was 1984. Bush x41, Dole, Bush x43 are not conservative. Did you sit out or vote rat in the 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2004 elections?

Yes, as goes Maine, so goes Vermont. I think those were the only two states Landon carried. Even his home state of Kansas went FDR.
McCain will carry Montana, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Arizona, and maybe Nebraska.
He is going to take a huge drubbing. And so will we. But that’s what happens when a party strays from its principles.

I really do hate quitters. The left has been spectacularly successful because they don’t quit. They keep chinking away, brick by brick.

It should take McCain about 4 years to start launching nukes at somebody, so thats about right. Huh? I think he would have the temperment from day one :)

MSM is just having some fun at our expense. My gosh, do you really expect THEM to actually READ what they say before they say the opposite thing? C’mon that requires some genuine thinking be done.
To: IMissPresidentReagan
Actually the same thing occurred with Rush. First he was irrelevant, then it was his fault we end up with McCain, and now that we have McCain, rush is irrelevant again.
To: Yosemitest
Tell me, would our country be better off if conservatives had sat out the 2000, 2004 elections? President algore or John Francois Kerry?

Forget it. The “baby-boomlet” is 44 million strong and so thoroughly brainwashed that even a Carter-like presidential disaster probably won’t deprogram them. Add in the 20 million illegals who will surely become citizens soon, and it will likely be ‘Rat madness for as far as the mind can see.
