Primary Voters: Vote against McCain! Vote for deadlock! Vote anyone but McCain!

Folks, there still may be a slim chance to force a deadlocked convention. I'm no election math wizard, but I believe it's still mathematically possible for McCain to NOT receive the requisite number of delegates to win the nomination. But it would require a great turnout of passionate conservative voters in the remaining primary states to accomplish.
The trick would be for all remaining primary conservative voters to vote for their favorite candidate as if he were still in the race. Fred's name is still on the ballot. So is Hunter's and Romney's. Shoot, vote for Huckabee, Paul or even Giuliani if you wish. Anyone but McCain!
None of the others can possibly win, but it's still possible for McCain to lose. Let it go to the convention and force the GOP to publicly fight it out as if its very life depended on it. Because it does.
What do we have to lose? As it stands now, more and more conservatives are declaring their intentions to sit out the general. If McCain is our candidate, looks like Hillary/Obama will be our next president. Don't let it happen. Vote for any GOPer other than McCain!

At worst the strategy would serve to put pressure on McCain. Even someone as stubborn as he would see the obvious if he were denied a majority in, say, Texas. after his virtual nomination on Super Tuesday. I will vote against him before I will vote for him. IMHO, he has to prove he doesn’t speak with forked tongue. Hard for a man who has behaved so often like a snake.

I have no problem with trying to stop McCain before or even during the convention. But once he has become the bona fide nominee, it's no longer a battle for ideology, but an attempt at damage control. That's what primaries are for. I was a FredHead (donated to his campaign and a yard sign is still planted in my front yard ), and we all were given a fair chance to get our candidates nominated. If we couldn't, we accept it, and we move on and try harder next time. It's Democrats who bi*ch and whine and moan after losing elections. Us conservatives accept reality and make best with what we have.
That is exactly what the GOP elite, the moderates and liberals in our party expect from us.
I am not playing that game anymore.
You can call my actions anything you want, I call it principle.
I will not reward the horrible behavior of McAmnesty and the moderates and liberals in our party (including trying to remove the SoCons as a power base in the party) with my vote.
They will learn nothing!
McAmnesty is going to lose anyway and next time you will get even worse behavior from them.
If you reward bad behavior, you only get more and worse bad behavior.

Now, this is an ABM treaty I think we should sign (Anybody But McCain).

Thanks! I work in finance...we tend to compile data independently out of habit. LOL...
Are you up for an analytical comparison by historical state voting tendencies between dem and repub after the nominees are selected? I was thinking about compiling the base data in preparation before May and I never turn down assistance, if available.

What you’re mssing is the fact that conservatives will NOT unite behind either Ron Paul or Huckabee.

1. Because he has a “blame America first” mentality.
2. Because his so called foreign policy is disastrous.
3. Because he has accomplished nothing in 20+ years in office, and owes us a refund.
4. Because he has only published ONE policy position paper so far.
5. Because he sounds like PeeWee Herman on crack.

I dont own a white flag either. Anyone that wants to drop my flag is going to have to fight for it and on that day... be prepared to meet God. In that event, make sure you blow him away with a nice, tight pattern. (Don't fall for the old temptation to 'write your name' on him. It's not just a bad pattern, it might make it sound intentional.)

I don’t know if this will necessarily “work”, but anyone voting other than their conscience in this election, is a fool.
I’ll be voting Fred in April.

But shouldn't we then vote only for the remaining candidates then and avoid further splitting the conservative vote among those who have dropped out already? By splitting the conservative vote 10 ways, McCain has gained so much apparent support. I don't see what you hope to achieve by advocating the same.
This is why I ask: what am I missing?

So if someone other then McCain wins 558 of remaining delegates the party wins? This can be done roughly with ten states I think. Texas, Nebraska, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Indiana. N. Carolina, Idaho, Wisconsin, New Mexico. Or many other combinations. So the other than McCain vote need only carry 10 of the remaining 25 states. Maybe I’m mistaken, but looks like it is not out of the question.

It is definitely possible to stop McCain from an outright win. Maybe that’s an issue we can all unite around.

Hey, I’m all for it. Doubt they’ll go for the antiwar Ron Paul though, so Huckabee would have to be the one. Now all we’ve got to do is convince the majority of the conservative voters. Good luck with that. I’m just hoping they won’t sit home in disgust.
Get to the polls and vote Huckabee!! (or anyone but McCain!)

I doesn’t matter what you’re missing. You’re supposed to hit the Panic Button now.
The consequences of that are unimportant.
Okay, maybe they are, but you’re not missing anything.
To: RobbyS
"At worst the strategy would serve to put pressure on McCain." Precisely- McCain looks unstoppable but without a major turnaround on illegals he won't have the conservative support in November to win and votes for any other nominees can force him and the party to come out of their dream world and face that.
