Hattie: “Do you realize there are millions of us out here who still have not even voted? We get John McCain and are completely disenfranchised at the same time.”
I’m sorry. For what it’s worth, you aren’t the only one who was disenfranchised. I wanted Thompson. The primary process is so incredibly flawed, and I think it’s designed to work against conservatives. Here’s why:

Here’s another look:

The whole primary process is a mess. Every state has it’s own rules and many are jockeying for a stronger position. Since it’s a party matter, the party needs to step in and establish a consistent set of rules for all states.
In our dreams. Talked to a person in the know about just this and what he said was for this to happen, the RNC would have to finance it for all the states. The elites would never give up that kind of control either.
We should really make noise about this though because it was all changed this year and has disenfranchised half the country.
Another thing is states giving Winner Take All delegates to someone who gets 30% of the vote is outrageous. And states get to decide that too. You should have to get 50% (majority) IMO. Think how different this race would be right now. Actually the Dems are more fair than us.
