Brilliant, joanie--as usual, simply brilliant. If ever there was a single voice--just when we need it--to express the feelings of true conservatives, your post is that voice.

I will not, under any circumstances support or vote for John McCain. To say that he is a double dealing two faced weasel is to state the obvious. There are so many excellent reasons not to support him, just when we are ready to sum them up, here comes a few more. His claim as a conservative possesses sort of a surface sheen because he has somehow managed to garner an ACU rating of 83 -- undoubtedly because there are so very many of the everyday issues, he was able to slither into a kind of B-grade notwithstanding his "maverick" tendency to cross the aisle and jump into bed with the Rats on virtually every single one of the "touchstone" issues, those which separate the courageous, dedicated conservative from the faux conservatives--the ones who say "C'mon, you know we all have to get behind McCain to prevent the Rats from winning with Hillary or Obama."

What the faux conservatives cannot conceive, and will never understand, is that the true conservative is so fed up to the teeth with pulling that damned lever every four years for the "least worse" candidate, we now refuse to continue that madness because we have, at long last, realized that doing so never brings us an improvement in the conduct of the Republican party and, especially, its so called "leadership". Instead, they become more convinced they can continue on course, full speed ahead with big government, big spending, more UN and globaloney. Because we know that this will stop only when we stop pulling that "least worse" lever, more of us than ever before have decided to draw a line in the sand. This time, no more "least worse" and NO to McCain.

When even a guy like Duncan Hunter--not the perfect conservative, but close enough to Reagan to make him the only true conservative in this race--cannot garner more than 5% (at best) anyplace, it really is time to recognize just how far we have fallen, since Reagan left office, by going along with the GOP. "Go along to get along" was a lousy policy back in the silk sock country club Bob Michael era, and it's even a worse one today.

I'm done.
