Tet68, I’m not trying to pile on here by any means, but I have to agree with Joanie-F’s logic in her post to you.

I have pinged in Squantos because he let me know this discussion was taking place, and Joanie-F because I am mentioning her post.

I am very sympathetic to your view on this Tet68. I have been on both ends of this argument and realize you, like us, are trying to come up with the best possible game plan for this fall out of a strong conviction to do what is best for the nation we love.

As Joanie-F states, we have been playing the lesser of two evils game for so long, we have now come to the place that the likes of McCain now carries the party standard, and at this point I simply cannot go along with the lesser of twos any longer.

As Joanie-F stated, we get a worse guy every four years. And now facing a McCain presidency, my only question is what could possibly be worse than McCain? The sad thing is, there will be something worse and in four or eight yeas, we’ll have to choose then between the lesser of two evils again. This is getting us nowhere.

IMO, we make a stand. We show the party that it is dead without us. And then we demand they make some changes.

At the same time, I recommend we get some like mined people together and start a party dedicated to the founding principles and conservatism in general. I don’t recommend it be something we slap together before his fall. It should be something we start locally, and build up to the state then federal levels.

This is going to take four to ten years to get off the ground, but in the end we will have replaced the Republican party with one that will adhere to strict conservative principles, or else. Any member of that party will tow the line or find him/herself without a part. We don’t need leftists. If we did we’d be voting for democrats.

That’s the way I see it. And I would love to invite folks to a founding meeting where we could discuss the feasability of doing this, and if agreed to, a detailed plan to create the party that wil lead this nation, back to the founding principles, and into the future.

Anyone interested in this type of endeavor, let me know. My ideas don’t have to prevail, but it’s time to acknowedge that our nation’s best interests are not being met with politics as usual.

It’s time for a new day in American, and we need to step up.

The Republican party has chosen not to.

Excellent commentary, DoughtyOne. I second every word.

As for your 'new party' idea ... are you familiar with the Constitution Party?
