McCain KNOWS the best way to win over conservatives is to flip on his border/immigration position.
He just has to do that slowly. By November, he should, he MUST be a full-on immigration hawk...or, as he knows...he'll lose big due to weak conservative turnout.
This man wants the white house ...a lot...real, real bad. He knows he will have to GENUINELY "convert" to get there. Winning the GOP nomination (he already has it LOCKED UP) doesn't make him president.
