I really wish he'd stop trying to associate his name with President Reagan's. 99% of our problem with McCain is that he DOES try to be all things to all people. He works so hard at being all things to the left that he works better with them than he does with us.
That said, it's a pretty well put together speech.
To be fair to Huckabee, he's got a better record on the 2nd Amendment.
He already said he wouldn't nominate another Alito because he's too conservative. So...he was against Alito before he was for him.
"We" are?? "We" fast and pray all day in the White House, do "we"?

This year I will vote "against". Against Hillary and/or Obama. We've all been set up. I've been saying all year that Democrats were planning to cross over in droves during the primaries to get the GOP an unacceptable candidate. They started with Paul. They tried with Huckabee. McCain's an unstable old clown but can be relied on to be entertaining and the media loves him...so now it's McCain, though it was probably not any real contest anyway.
Come November, all those Democrat crossovers and quite a few Independents - who voted for McCain - are going to vote for the DEMOCRAT NOMINEE, leaving US high and dry and out in the cold. Mark my words. Please vote.
Oh. So, he didn't cut taxes, stop federal funding of fetal stem cell research and abortion and begin raising the education levels of our children to some kind of decent standard? If he didn't get the fence built (two have been passed) or succeed with tort reform, get the death tax repealed or his tax cuts made permanent, it was because the purists turned on him with a viciousness and vengeance worthy of a Democrat. You offered vitriol rather than the support he needed to get all of his agenda passed. NO president can succeed without support.
Even now, those purists just HAVE to get more licks in. Here we are probably stuck with McCain, famous for stabbing President Bush in the back at every opportunity...and you're blaming Bush. Unbelievable.
I think that's the best solution to this miserable situation. Gonna have to rebuild the GOP at a later date...
No. You find things that you agree on and get something done. You don’t refuse to work together because the guy across the aisle doesn’t see things the way you do.
That method ensures nothing gets done (sometimes that is good) and also assures you piss off a bunch of people to keep you out of power for a very long time.
Thanks for posting. Senator Cornyn is a class act. Like Mitt Romney, he is putting aside his personal differences with McCain because we’re in a war. But I still have to question the wisdom of winning a war on Islamofacism while throwing our southern border wide open to any who want to come here.
There IS no wisdom to that....
But it IS slightly less smelly than the piece with a D in front of it... (/sarc)

Since it appears likely that the GOP has forced John McCain on us.. I think it is fair to take a very critical look at him.. and anticipate how he might be destroyed by the left in the General Election.. and why MANY of us on the right just can’t bring ourseleves to vote for him anyway..

This is the man John McCain chose to be his "Hispanic Outreach Director." Hernandez is a verified traitor. Born in Dallas he decided as an adult to become a dual-national Mexican citizen. His last job was serving as Mexican President Vicente Fox's "American Reconquista Director."
Hernandez believes all Mexicans and Mexican-Americans in the USA should become dual citizens and consider themselves Mexicans first, "to the 8th generation."
The "New American Pioneers" proclaimed in his book are the illegal alien invaders he urges to become settlers in the USA.
And this is the man McCain chose for his "Hispanic Outreach Director." In the past week he was asked about this choice, and he said he chose Hernandez because he agrees with his positions.
Yet out of the other side of his mouth he says "He has heard us" and he will "Secure the border first."
