Coburn and Allen are just playing the game that politicians have been playing for the last couple of centuries. The rest of us are free to do as we choose.
Perhaps, but Coburn is one of the most principled, conservative Senators we have seen in decades, and is a very intelligent and knowledgeable politician, so I think conservatives would be wise to follow his lead. It is likely he would refuse to take a position he didn’t believe to be in the best interest of conservatism.
