it sounded like a very young crowd cheering for McNuts

That would comport with Trueblackman's post that Mccain had bussed in a bunch of young supporters with a few geezer handlers.

No. They were told not to boo McCain and sit on their hands. Sheeple. Do you really think other candidates supporters were cheering for McCain? I don’t!

Candidates from both sides have been bussing in supporters to events like this for at least 50 years. Big deal.

“Many conservatives are disgracing themselves with their hatred here and they need to take a deep breath and calm down. McCain did nothing more evil than to run a successful primary campaign. I didn’t support him and I didn’t vote for him on Super Tuesday, but now he has my support.”

Well, I’m glad you have been able to come to a decision to support him. I, for one, have not. And, I don’t like people like you telling I have to back a candidate, who has frequently backstabbed conservatives in the past. You would be best to rejoice in your decision to back him and leave the rest of us with legitimate gripes alone.

And, visting the free speech question again, McCain didn’t tell us there was no need to buy our brownshirts before we go out and campaign this Fall.

CPAC is generally a young crowd anyway, lots and lots of students.

You are absolutely correct IMO. I posted the following in response to my request for a Mc-Bot to give me an honest comparison of the two speeches (Romney & McCain):

Joe Buck repsonded: "OK, one was the speech of a winner and one was the speech of a loser."

I responded: You make my point. You Mc-Bots are blind to the truth and in no way objective about what has really happened. Enjoy your Nov. disaster.

BTW, You got it reversed. The last speech was one made by a loser (Not yet revealed) and the first one (Romney's) was the one McCain should have given but is incapable of ever giving.

Somebody on the ground from CNN said that prior to McCain's speech, folks were taking off their Romney T-shirts and putting on McCain T-shirts!

The old "maverick" hasn't even got on stage yet, and the sheeple are already kissing his feet.

DISGUSTING!

I think it’s time some people on FR grew up.

Past time McCainbots learn how to campaign.

Screaming insults at people then expecting them to vote for you guy is not going to work. That one of the reasons why McCain has never gained ground in any of the Freeper polls. People simply tune you obnoxious twits with your hyper emotive ranting out.

Your best bet right now is to walk away. You got 9 months to convince Conservatives to back McCain. All you McCainicans are doing with your punk bitch posting style is reminding people why they neither like nor trust McCain. You are keeping the wounds open and solidifying attitudes against your guy with these sorts of posts.

Right now the McCainbots best bet is simply shut up and walk away. Let the Democrats candidates and their rhetoric scare Conservatives into support McCain. That may work.

What Conservatives are NOT going to listen to people like the McCainbots around here who scream at them to "Grow up".

We are the grown up ones here. We actually vote principals, not vote simply based on the party brand. You childish McCain twists should grow up and do the same.

“But the context is different now. I can’t just seethe over ANWR or the other issues without examining his record on all issues, and his stated campaign positions...We (as Americans) can’t afford to ignore that McCain wants ... appoint conservative judges...”

His past actions certainly suggest that these are merely hollow words. Case in point, he says that he will appoint strict constructionist judges. Looking back, we remember him as leader of the “gang of 14” who fought against conservatives and the GOP over judges that they considered too conservative. And then we hear that he opposed Alito, stating that he was “too conservative”.

Either he is a liar or he is really confused about what constitues a conservative judge. Perhaps someone like Arlen Spectre would fit his definition?

WE can and will keep him in check as President

Not sure...does anyone know of a transcript? Seems to me I heard a bit that started with him "consulting knowledgeable conservatives on issues" BUT IF he, after "consulting" them still wants things HIS WAY, we are pretty much supposed to bend over and take it.

I never was a Romney support! You attack me saying I was.

I said nothing of the kind. I commented: "All the Romney supporters sure would lap it up from Mitt."

So it had to be the religion, I’m not a Mormon either.

You figured I was delivering an anti-Mormon attack because you are not Mormon?

I may have to attack you for being a nincompoop...

Turned off the television as soon as he walked on stage. Took my dog for a long hike in the snow and the "fresh air" felt fantastic.

LOL My brother said he is going to the casinos in Reno election day.
