If it is true, I will consider it so. And if it is true, I will make my apology in advance to those I sparred with in defense of Romney.

Let's wait and see.

Suspension is not dropping out and not a sell-out. A sell-out would mean that Mitt did this for a reason other than what he stated...such as becoming McCain's VP.

BTW, I became a Romney supporter after Fred dropped out. Since I'm from Michigan my Fred vote ACTUALLY COUNTED.

No. Realistic, patriotic while at war — yes. Sell-out? No. I understand why FR gives me a pain in the neck sometimes. Too dense by half sometimes.

No. I don’t know if it is true, but I know it doesn’t matter, Romney’s exit is a tacit endorsement of McCain anyway. In his speech, he explained why he was leaving, and it wasn’t so that he would “clear the way” for Huckabee to fight for the nomination.

Huckabee was more conservative than McCain, which means Romney would have more in common with Huckabee than McCain. But there’s no point in endorsing a guy who cannot win, even if Romney had any reason to endorse a guy who essentially called him a devil-worshipper (that’s hypberbole, guys).

No...I consider it a nod to reality. It is unrealistic to think Romney could win at this point, so if he decides to join with McCain to beat the democrats then more power to him. Even better if he is McCain's veep. McCain is probably going to be a one term president (if he wins) and Romney would be in a position to take over in 2012.

No, it isn’t a sellout - just being pragmatic. To most Republicans, and yes, even conservatives, it is better to have McCain as president even though he’s a seriously flawed man. The primary reason is he will continue to prosecute the war on terror and won’t let the enemies of our freedom win by prematurely withdrawing from Iraq. Hilary or Obama has repeatedly vowed that they will immediately withdraw the troops as soon as they become president.
