“Black, well-spoken conservative from an eastern state - a blue one that will probably be in play with McCain. Gold.”

Nope. Lead.

Steele? You’re kidding? Or do you just want him because he’s black?

Steele lost in his OWN state, which has a large black population. If he couldn’t win THEM, how in heck do you expect him to win _other_ blacks, or other whites?

Obama would clean his clock but good.

Blacks vote for blacks, so long as they are democrats.
Whites vote for black Republicans (the “token factor”), but black Republican candidates almost never garner a decent share of the black vote.

Putting a black up as a “token candidate” is as useful as putting up a woman to be one, as well.

Michael Steele isn't a token anything. He's a strong conservative with strong views and the ability to communicate same.

He's also young, dynamic and a self made man with a lot of help from a strong and loving Mother.

Don't call him a token anything.
