Yes.

You are making progress...You now ask, instead of stating the non fact. Progress is sometimes one step at a time.

“It’s probably true, you could read it in his wife’s face during his speech after Super Tuesday results came in.”

Agreed. I saw the same resignation on Romney’s wife’s face that night.

I was flipping through channels that night, and I thought I saw glimmers of it in Romney's face, as well. So much so that I paused to listen for a bit, and was surprised that it wasn't a concession.

And the sooner Evangelicals get it through their thick skulls that likewise they cannot win without fiscal cons the better off we will all be.

Evangelicals will turn the other cheek, but they are not fools. They will not campaign and vote for a party that will not address their issues. Evangelicals are not like certain groups in the Rodent Party that will do what they are told and take what crumbs are thrown to them.

Who said anything about getting rid of evangelicals...seems like the only ones who have are people like George W Bush and McCain, the former having pandered to them before, and the latter trying to pander to them now...does it feel good when they do? does it validate your Evangelism when they do? I repeat: Dobson could have thrown his weight behind a candidate that would ahve supported a Constitution that has protected Evangelism for 200+ years...instead he had to throw out a vanity opinion...and look what we’ve got now- he’s STILL out there b*tchin and moaning...some evangelism!

I’m not a loyal Republican. I’m a loyal conservative. So there’s no way I’m voting for McCain.

I’d rather see a Democrat win, which would most likely mean a takeover of Congress by conservative Republicans (as in ‘94 and ‘80) than a liberal RINO with a bad temperment, which would likely mean a loss of even more Republicans in Congress.

I am not an Evangelical. Never said I was. I simply understand their position.

Dobson could have thrown his weight behind a candidate that would ahve supported a Constitution that has protected Evangelism for 200+ years

Yes, he could have supported Duncan Hunter. To my disappointment, he didn't.

instead he had to throw out a vanity opinion...and look what we’ve got now- he’s STILL out there b*tchin and moaning...some evangelism!

I don't know how that Dobson email about Fred was leaked. If it was intentional, it was wrong. At this point I am inclined to agree with you. He is conducting a war of attrition, much like Rush did, and it backfired big time.

Well if Freepers don’t vote for McCain in November you will get Hillary in office and you will be responsible of the defeat in Iraq, a new rise of islamo-terrorism and a quick decline of the US power. I agree. That is the ONLY area where McCain is any different than Hillary or Obama. Personally, I don't think McCain has a chance. The MSM created him, and they will destroy him after he gets the nomination.

I think you may have a libertarian position on trade versus a conservative position.

We will have to agree to disagree and pick this up another time.

I have some work to finish.

Khepri said

“Explain Huckster and his supporters.

You think he’s going to overcome McCain?.....(smirk)

I stand by what I said.

If Huckster was a fiscal conservative McCain would not be the front runner, inho.”

The Fair Tax is the most ‘conservative’ idea anyone has talked about this whole election, because the IRS, that administers the income tax / withholding, is the most oppressive, intrusive, socialist institution in our country.

Huckabee is an ardent, articulate supporter of the Fair Tax, and I believe he really “gets it”. It is the best hope on the horizon for giving power back to the people, and waking people up to the stranglehold the current tax system has on the people and the economy.

Right now McCain’s just ahead because of name recognition for most voters, and, up to now, splitting the conservative vote in the informed voters who are paying attention.

When most people get to know Mike Huckabee, they like him, and likeability is something we will really need in the fall, against either Hillary or Obama, or a ticket with both on it.

What part about “better off we will BOTH be” did you miss?

Lack of support for Huckaphoney is my argument.

I say again, *IF* he was a fiscal con we’d all be happy and McCain would not be the front runner.

But he’s not. He’s a Nanny-stater. We all lose therefore.
