I liked Allen.

And let me tell everyone, after the way National Review and the Corner went after him in 2006, they were second only to the Washington Post, last night was great.

People like K. Lopez way back then saw Allen as Romney’s biggest competitor and she is so obsessed with Romney, she did what she could to take out Allen.

Well last night she was sobbing I am sure, I was rejoicing.
Revenge baby!

I don't understand your reasoning. A vote for Ron Paul or Alan Keyes would be an example of a wasted vote.

Huck has no following beyond the evangelical base. He failed to win in the northern states. The South hasspoken and given him some delegates, but not enough to stop McCain.

The conservative vote being split among Romney and Huck will leave only Huck to move on (with a sane Romney realizing the race is over). Huck doesn’t have money to battle effectively in states in which he lacks a natural base.

The damage is done.

It’s gonna be up to Huck to stop the McCainiac. Can he do it?

Does he want to?

It kills me to say it, but Mitt cannot close the deal with conservatives and his Mormom faith regretably killed him last night in Georgia, Tennessee, and Missouri. I don’t understand it, it is bigoted and, frankly, stupid, because it handed McCain the nomination.

McCain has won this nomination ugly.

Now Mitt can decide if he wants to make the nomination worthless to McCain by battling on, or whether he is contemplating 2012 when McCain is defeated in November.

You’re right, but the fact of the matter is the Republican party is as irrelevant, misguided, and unprincipled as it ever has been. This is evident from many of the posts here, and the insistence on attacking their own - which has occurred here for over a year, top to bottom - is why we’ll end up with a socialist in the White House.

I have a question. Where is the link that goes with this thread; Who else heard this?

Would the poster provide the link from either MSNBC or other news source.

Mitt might be cancelling his events for later this week, because of his wife. She IS living with MS and didn't look well on the stage last night. Maybe she's having tests or something?..

Just remember, gridlock is our friend.

There won't be any gridlock as McCain or Huck will destroy the down ticket races. The democrats will totally control congress leaving republicans as ankle biters with no say. Congratulations to the liberal/taliban wing you have destroyed the party.

That may very well have been the most intelligent post I have ever read on FR, and that is saying a lot.

I will vote against Hillary because I loathe her with every cell in my body-but it's only a protest vote. Nothing more.

You might try thinking for yourself.

What we do is watch the clusterf*** we’ve helped to cause unfold by savaging each flawed candidate in order, giving us the next candidate - who is more flawed. All viable candidates, unfortunately, were flawed. So what do we do? We start “Truth Files” to help savage each one of our candidates, focusing on the bad instead of the good. This is how we end up with guaranteed loser John McCain - undoubtedly the worst candidate in the field.

Maybe we should acknowledge that people can change and not every Republican candidate has been a “rock-ribbed conservative” since infancy. What we’ve done is help prop up the guy who’s openly moved to the left (oh, it’s OK, he’s not a “baby killer,” but as much effect he’d have on that is through judges, and we know how well he does on that) instead of a guy who claims to have had a change of heart and moves to the right.

The future will be brighter. The future is always brighter.

Romney realizes the Drive-By Media — aided and abetted by the sheeple — has picked our candidate for us.

Yup. I've coined a term for it.

Our government no longer derives its power from the "consent of the governed". It now retains its power with the "acquiescence of the manipulated."
