The republican party will stop pandering to the god and guns crowd Even if you never stop insulting us, we'll still cut your taxes when we come in to power.

“The republican party will stop pandering to the god and guns crowd when they need to(they already think theyre troublemakers). “
Except for a short window of glory when Ronald Reagan snatched the republican party from them, and valiant efforts and some success of Newt Gingrich, and the Dick Army, Phil Graham types, you are describing the normal situation.
To use a non Romney phrase, SNAFU, I am reinvigorated to renew my efforts to impose God, Guns, and Guts, on America.

So you honestly think Huckabee has a chance to be nominated as the Republican candidate?

Romney is related to Bush...a little know fact. Everybody is related to everybody, it is just that those of us who know their pedigree can prove it.

Guess what....moderates make up the majority of America. The sooner the Gop learns that the better. Pure wishful thinking. Look at the polling data. The largest single chunk is self described "Conservatives". Liberals plus Moderates make up a slight majority. But Moderates are the smallest of the bunch. It a 38 Left-42 Right - 20 "Moderate" Country
But we will talk about that in Nov. After you lose the election in a 1980s style landslide and hand the keys to the White House and a 60 seat Senate to the Democrats, you can explain to us how moving another 35% father to the Left from Bush with McCain "because we have to win the moderates" was such a "brilliant" political move.

Senators don't make good presidential candidates. You're right. They aren't good. But they are the only ones left in the races this year.

They are idiot conservatives. They had a chance for a viable conservative alternative and took a non-conservative who talks God-talk to them in between non-conservative populist nanny-state soundbites. A candidate whose campaign is dead in the water is not "viable". I hope you can get over your bitter disapointment soon. Eventually spite dies away and then I know I can count on you to vote for your own self-interest.

Romney actually did great, he got more votes than McCain did, has won almost as many states and votes as McCain.
The only problem is the conservative vote split off.
Result?

I didn’t. I said he should stay in the race and force a deadlocked convention. Now I say Romney should do the same. Hope he doesn’t drop out. Praying for deadlock.

If we have a brokered Convention, McCain will be the Nominee. He has the vast bulk of the Republican Party Establishment behind him.
