NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A massive fire erupted at a natural gas pumping station in a rural area, spreading to houses and killing an undetermined number of people, authorities said.

Weather.com has a video where they interviewed Sheriff Sam Carter of Allen County Kentucky. Said a 9 mile stretch of the county was completely leveled. All buildings in the twisters path were leveled. Expect more fatalities there.
My son at Union University in Jackson, TN, made it safely through the storm. Now I'm worried about my sister and nephew in Tuscaloosa, AL who I can't get ahold of by phone, and other relatives in west GA.
Stay safe everyone. Dang, this storm series is bad!
That’s good news about your son. All my relatives are fine too.
Prayers for those affected.

Eight students were trapped in a battered dormitory at Union University in Jackson, Tenn., until they were finally freed. Tornadoes had hit the campus in the past, and students knew the drill when they heard sirens, said Union University President David S. Dockery. At least two dormitories were destroyed.

“When the sirens went off the entire process went into place quickly,” Dockery said. Students “were ushered into rooms, into the bathrooms, interior spaces.”
He said about 50 students were taken to the hospital and nine stayed through the night. But all would be fine, he said. The students “demonstrated who they are and I’m so proud of them.”

***It sounded like a very loud tea kettle boiling.***
So, your tornado sounded like a whistling sound. Is that right? Our tornado sounded like a very large motor, but no whistling. Maybe it was higher up than yours.
They say tornados seek the lowest level. We have a large almost empty area behind us, and it DID lower right there and then rise again with no damage. Unbelievable. We’re still being warned about tornados in the general area.
Prayers for you.
52 deaths now reported per CNN
Thanks for the prayers. I’ll keep you in my prayers as well, especially during these violent storms.
We got a storm last night, and it was just some thunder, lightning, and rain, nothing bad. I’m not sure if we are due to get any more or not. Hopefully they are all over. It’s sad how many people have lost their lives due to these storms.
In terms of deaths, this outbreak is the worst since 1985. This event could have been a lot worse because of the storm that produced the tornado southwest of Nashville, which luckily cycled over downtown and then dropped the next tornado to the northeast of Nashville. Nashville was really lucky.
