You got that exactly right and when McCain gets up it will be more of the same “My friend” drivel. They both are very pale by comparison with Romney.
I will never understand what has happened here. Huck and McCain beating Romney - Astonishing to this Conservative.

Our electorate likes simpletons and egomaniacs? What else can I tell you?

I think a lot of it has to do with image. Romney is from Mass and looks like a New England liberal. He doesn't have the "common man" touch that a lot of conservatives like, and the Mormonism probably doesn't help, either, especially in the South.

I will never understand what has happened here. Huck and McCain beating Romney - Astonishing to this ConservativeIn FL exit polls, Huckavoters second choice was overwhelmingly McCain. I bet their third choice is Obama.
The Bush-Rove evangelical new voters aren't conservatives. They are political Christians.
The funny thing is, if Mitt wasn't pretending to be a conservative, he would have done better against Huckabee.
The combined conservative vote IN THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARIES (Fred+Hunter+Tancredo) is no more than 20%. Among independents and Democrats, it's zero.

It shouldn't be. Romney is NOT a conservative. He just plays one on TV.
