Really the only mistake that Evangelicals made was throwing their support behind Huckabee rather than Hunter.

Hunter was my first choice. Then when he dropped out and endorsed Huckabee, I went with his recommendation.

Too late for people to realize this now, but Hunter’s endorsement did not recognize that this “next best choice to vote for” was not a viable nominee. Hunter really ought to have comprehended that he had to go to the next best _electable_ choice...

I feel for you - following his advice - as did many others. Now it is almost inevitable that we’ll get McCain, and even if he were to choose Huck as VP, that is far to liberal a ticket for me to be comfortable with.

Splintering our votes really really hurt conservative thought this nomination.
