Nope. You could even make an argument that having a pro-choice viewpoint IS the conservative view since it keeps government out of your life. I’m not saying that’s my view, but it’s a view, and has some legitamacy. There are a lot of holier-than-though fundamentalists on this board. And it’s people like them that scare the rest of America into voting for the Democrats.

If we end up in an open convention - Here's some food for thought...

I heard earlier on one of the talk radio shows (so take it for what it's worth) that McCain's inner circle had quietly ruled out Huckabee as a VP choice because he was too conservative and divisive, but they were trying to keep it quiet until McCain gets the nomination. McCain is looking for a more "moderate" choice like Tom Ridge, Joe Lieberman etc.

If Huckabee learns that he is just be used by McCain like a cheap Saigon pleasure girl he may become a bit friendlier to Romney. Perhaps Romney should beat McCain to the punch and offer Huckabee the VP slot. It may very well end up that Huckabee decides the nominee and it would be great to beat McCain at his own game.

If rural CA is going McCain, turn out the lights.

McCain will win Calif hands down.

I am going to bed; not even worth waiting for any more results.

Unfortunately, looks like the good polls in CA for Mitt were wrong.

McCain supporters are deluded. How do they expect McCain to win in November when he can’t even get a majority in his own state?

He'll get them all to fall in line by calling them all f***ing morons, that'll do it. He's a uniter, doncha know?

Obama is going to fix everything. I heard him say so. Unemployment, education, defense - all he has to do is wave his magic wand.

“In the shadow of a shuttered steel plant...”

Channeling Edwards?

"Do you think such a candidate would be being persecuted for his religion?"

Not in public or as part of the election process. If you don't like his beliefs, don't vote for him. Don't, however, bring up his religion in the public election debate. That is not the way our system was founded.

I’m for a woman’s right to choose and I true blooded Republican.

Your view is your right. I disagree with it, but it is your view. I don't believe the two opposed views will long coexist in one party, however. I see several groups of Conservatives heading for the door of that big tent over this and other issues in the differing legs of that mythical coalition stool, leaving the party in the minority for a long time.

I agree with you, glock. No winners. Absent Charlie, there's always Don McLean....(Bye Bye) Miss American Pie....

And they were singing,
"bye-bye, Miss American pie.
Drove my Chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
And them good old boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singing this'll be the day that I die;
this'll be the day that I die."

You need to put down the bong.....

The RNC needs to put down the bong if they think they can win elections without Bible-believing Christians.

"For all you folks who think a 3rd party isn’t viable.."

May be viable or not,
but it's the only way I'll stay in the system.

Otherwise I'll probably register independent and vote only for vaguely asian, transgender or cross dressing, persons between the height of 5'3" and 5'8" unless it's sunny and mild on election day - then I'll go to the beach.
