WELCOME TO THE CHRIS PLANTE SHOW!
CHRIS PLANTE BIO (some excerpts from WMAL) -
The Chris Plante Show, 630AM - WMAL, Washington, D.C. is broadcast live during the week, Mondays through Fridays from 8:06 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 12:06 - 2:00 p.m. by himself and with Jerry Klein, WMAL's Pet Liberal, from 2:06 - 3:00 p.m.
Chris Plante, often sub to Mark The Great One Levin, joined the WMAL team after 17 years at CNN including nearly ten years assigned to the Pentagon covering the U.S. military and intelligence community. Chris was assigned variously as Pentagon Correspondent, Senior Producer for National Security Affairs, Military Affairs Producer and as an assignment editor. He traveled extensively for CNN covering defense related stories from Saudi Arabia in 1990 and Bosnia in 1995, to Vietnam, Indonesia, Africa and the remote corners of the former Soviet Union.
Chris also hosts the public affairs show Homefront America which is currently seen nationally on The American Life television network, and is working as a documentary film maker. Representing the third generation of his family that has been on-the-air in radio and television, Chris brings a unique world-view, and largely conservative/libertarian values to his role as talk show host on WMAL.
Marching in lock-step with no politician, Chris says his political party is Practi-crat, ...because of my distinctly practical political leanings. Chris received the Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio and Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) for his reporting from the Pentagon during the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.
CHRIS CORE BIO (from WMAL) -
Chris Core takes a look at the most important city in the world as a broadcast veteran with over 30 years of experience. Marc Fisher of the Washington Post calls Chris, "A rare talker who gets the complexities of this region," reflecting a show that is more informative, more stimulating, and more entertaining than anything else on Washington radio.
Chris was nominated as one of the five best local talk show hosts in the country by Radio and Records Magazine and was listed again in 2007 as one of the Top 100 Talk Show Hosts in the country by Talkers Magazine -- for the 4th time! In his 3+ decades at WMAL, Chris has helped raise millions of dollars for charities including Fisher House, So Others Might Eat, The Salvation Army, Feed The Children, Childrens Hospital and for Leukemia research.

Torie Clark is - well, no she’s not. Technical difficulties...
Wow! Good for him. When did he turn 18?
Nov 3. He’s joining USMC reserves - then college and hopefully selection for Marine officer track. I think he has a good shot
Oy. Core and Plante talking about the shell game McCain and Huckabee did in West Virginia this afternoon. Plante says it was a “dirty trick”. Core calls it a “brilliant political move”. Gag me with a spoon, Core...
Excellent. I’m proud of him!
My Mom just called me... she said “I’m so happy because Hillary is winning all over!” (she’s a big Hill fan)... I couldn’t bear to tell her that Obama is opening a can of ‘whoop-ass’ on her... oh well, she’ll read about it tomorrow...
Has he signed up yet? I would suggest him trying to get a school into his contract if he could, perhaps Airborne School.
Core likes Huckster because he sounds good.
Well, it’s obvious he supports McLame... he’s made no qualms about it in recent weeks... dirty politicians are more of the same ‘ol same ‘ol in Washington... the circle of life...
Newseum is at 6th & Penn Ave, NW, where Constitution and PA Ave meet ... directly X from Natl Gallery, 1 block from Natl Archives, which is across from the Sculpture Garden on the Mall .... all kinda right there.
My hub’s office is also at 6th and Penn; the Newseum has kinda messed up their view of the Capitol so I have mixed feelings ;)
I’m old enough to remember Chris Core when he first appeared on the WMAL scene. He was a sports reporter. Then he teamed up with Bill Trumbull. He was great. He changed after he got married to a lefty Democrat. Top that off with the fact that he’s breathed in the noxious Washington DC air for too long, and now he’s a true-blue inside-the-beltway hack.
I miss my old DC lobbyist days... that used to be my “corridor”... loved the restaurants there...
He had to take a job that was open in the reserve unit he’s to be in. If he gets the officer track, that all goes away.
I was not aware that the Marines had Airborne, anyway.
No, the Army runs it. Some Marine units get slots. If he gets the chance, I think he would enjoy it.
Hubby just came up from the basement and said that our son wanted to watch the Barack Obama Show (on CNN or the Fox News Channel) rather than to watch his usual Nickelodeon evening shows or even “American Idol”! Unreal! What the hay?!?
I avoided going into DC unless absolutely necessary from ‘92 to ‘01 .. and may have to take another 4 year hiatus the way things are shaping up.
he’s in school in PG? bet it was a MAJOR topic of discussion, even among kids.
Charles County, MD — Great Schools!
Core: “You guys have been pounding on John McCain too much”...
Now Core’s defending McCain/Feingold and the Gang of 14!
Well, and Plante says that he’s definitely going to vote in Nov., but doesn’t say who he’ll vote for and it won’t be Hillary... so he might vote for McCain too... I’m in a bind with that too, because who can I vote for if McCain is the nominee? I’m not going to waste my vote on a write-in... it’s a stressful situation...
