And I foresee another bout of Octane Flu the last day of the month.....
Sure hope so!
Thanks for the ping on the TP stuff, should be home in time for the second race.
'bout 45 minutes..........
I just got home from tearing apart the steering axle on my Peterbilt, I love working at night even up here in Alaska.
I havn’t checked the news but one source says cam and another says lifters, but I did hear they went to a steel billet type of lifter instead of cast and that it had to be surface treated, I have built many many high performance engines and rule is to match the hardness of the cam lobe to the lifter, if not you get premature wear, my guess is the steel lifters were the problem.
Forgive me if I am wrong, I am in Alaska and not anywhere near Daytona and I have been off the racing circuit for many years so I also would like to know the facts on this.
Hi WCG. Thanks for the ping. The engine mess is worrisome, but better now than in the 500. BTW, I’ve been meaning to tell you that JJ used to be my 2nd favorite driver, but after all the things he said and did last year to disrespect Jeff, I now loathe him. I have always liked Junior although I couldn’t be a fan because my loyalty is to Jeff. But now Junior is my 2nd favorite driver. If Jeff can’t win the championship this year, I hope with all my heart that Junior does. But whatever happens on the track, Junior sure is a happy man these days. :)
Thanks, I’m happy to hear that.
I did appreciate the help JJ gave us Saturday night.....although I know he would have taken it himself if he had a chance as they all would have.
Today’s race should be interesting, all the good guys in the back and the desperate ones in between.
They mention that these engines cost between 70 and 100k. It would tick me off royally if I paid that much to learn about a stupid mistake that somebody didn’t match metal grades.
I will be gone for the second one, keep me posted on the progress or good stuff.
I will have the Daytona thread up later this evening as is depending on DJ’s outcome today.
Hi wolfstar long time, no see. Hope all is well with you.
I’ts 11:15a and I’m frying bacon and eggs in my pj’s, AND there’s racin’, too?! Good luck to Jr.
DW’s havin’ an orgasim.
Caution Vickers spins
Kurt Busch out. Will race 43rd in the 500.
Junior up to 2nd.
Junior takes the lead!
And 40 laps to go...
