Yes he is amazing.

I liked Mike Joy’s story about sneaking into the Wood Brothers pit. I’ve done the same myself back in the day when everything wasn’t SO strict!!

Just wondering after watching the baseball hearings today.

Are there any nascar racers on steroids?

Front Row Joe looks pretty big?

Funny you would ask. After watching Smoke in a commercial I said to myself...Self...Is Tony doing steroids and when will congress call him on the carpet to answer that question. Then they can take on Little League, Pop Warner etc...

Everything is loading slowly for me. I keep having to hit refresh.

Here’s the scoop on the engines........also Stewart changed his today as well.

Per Jeff Andrews.......

“We didn’t have them that truly broke. Right now, we are looking at the lifter,” said Jeff Andrews, head engine builder. “We don’t have anything apart yet. We just have some assumptions based on some early signs there we saw in some check-overs after that first practice. We have got a group of guys back in Charlotte, the best group of guys in my mind, have already started on the fix for the program, and we’ll get this stuff back and get it rebuilt and brought back down here. What we will put in the car, we have a lot of confidence in for tomorrow.”

In Victory Lane, in the midst of a raucous post-race celebration, Earnhardt jumped off the stage and exchanged bear hugs with the Guard members who were on hand for the event. An officer from The National Guard reported that its office in Washington, D.C., had been flooded with congratulatory e-mails and calls from soldiers stationed all over the world - their guy had won.

"What we will put in the car, we have a lot of confidence in for tomorrow.”

Yea right. I'd rather be lucky. That is a pure crap shoot.

Gotta share this with all. Yesterday:

We had six inches of snow and a layer of one inch of ice.
Of course my beautiful 94 Toyota Carolla went dead on the road.
The Three A's (not alcoholics guys) did a diagnosis and said I had hit the lottery. The odds were over 100,000 to 1.
Your alternator AND your battery are bad at the same time.
He said I should have gone to the grand opening of "Hollywood", our brand new slot parlor and race track.

After over $400, life goes on.

I bet somebody most likely underpaid or non english speaking while at a materials coating plant decided to get cheap on a big batch of lifters that were sent in by different teams.

“The Toyota engine we build under our spec has the exact same valves, pushrods, and rocker arms that were in our Chevy R07 motor,” Cronquist said. “So they’re not that different.”

Motors, they are a changin’.

Or was that “times”? Well, that wasn’t the case in Daytona this afternoon.

It would seem that teams running Hendrick engines, at least 6 (includes Nemecheck and Riggs), would be changing engines before the Duel’s tomorrow afternoon.

But wait, we’re not stopping there. Toyota is also have problems with their engines. In fact, the exact same problem. To the extent that TRD is sending new engines straight from California, post haste.

The problem, for you engine techs out there, is that the coating on the cam shaft is coming off, getting on the lifters and filtering through the engine.

Clint Bowyer is also changing an engine today, but it was unrelated to the above problem according to SPEED.

What this means is that the teams who have changed engines prior to their Duel will have to start at the back of their assigned heat. Once the Duel’s have run, all teams may freely make an engine change without penalty.

UPDATE: All four Hendrick Motorsports drivers -- #48-Jimmie Johnson, #24-Jeff Gordon, #88-Dale Earnhardt Jr. and #5-Casey Mears -- will start in the back of the field in Thursday's 150-mile qualifying races for the Daytona 500 after their engines were replaced on Wednesday afternoon.
Jeff Andrews, HMS's head engine builder, said the problem appears to be related to a batch of lifters.
The problem also was discovered in the cars of #78-Joe Nemechek and #87-Kenny Wallace of Furniture Row Racing, and #66-Scott Riggs and #70-Jeremy Mayfield of Haas Racing.
All four are powered by HMS engines. But the problem wasn't contained to HMS.
Toyota is bringing new engines from California for #44-Dale Jarrett and #84-A.J. Allmendinger. Joe Gibbs Racing is bringing new engines for #20-Tony Stewart and #96-J.J. Yeley. Yeley, who drives for the JGR satellite team Hall of Fame Racing, has replaced two engines since arriving at Daytona.
Jayski

Looks like we may have a full inversion of the field before Sunday!
