The author of the article is looking for the wrong things and is deluded by ABCOM syndrome. (Anyone but Clinton or McCain)
When you are down to 3rd and 4th choices in a campaign such as this, there is going to be a lot of divergence. Hunter and Thompson were my 1st and 2nd choices by far.
I am not happy about having to make a choice between what remains...but I have looked at it, measured their words (both old and current), looked at the campaign they are actually running on and made a tough choice...and it happens to be Romney as well. I do not like being put in the position to make that choice...but there it is. I believe he has the best chance to stop McCain and also the best chance (if he does) to win against either Hillary or Obama.
Admittedly, Romney has a huge mountain to climb in order to make that happen...but with what happened in Maine over the weekend, with the overwhelmimng majority here on FR now supporting him (and this is probably the most conservative site on the internet), and with the backing of Hastert, Santorum, Tancedo, and so many others...he does have the best chance.
You might consider what the author has done with his life, as opposed to what you have done with yours. Cheap off the cuff ignorant judgmentalism doesn't fly too far. Sorry 'bout that.
