I won mine too: Clover Bar pizza and beer!
There were some commercials up here in Canada during the game with two guys on a sofa wearing Pats jerseys and one nutty fan with a Giants jersey going nuts over what would be some plays in favor of the Giants. I think it was a cable tv ad and the final tagline was enjoy the game.
Good one. But what the heck happened to that guys ears? He can catch the ball really good though when he’s healthy. Cowboys better make RW ride the pine if we’re gonna beat them later this year! (And replace J. Reeves)
Twenty years ago this team would have had a hard time even making the playoffs.
The Pats never commited to running the ball until late in the year but once they did it was more than average. They were built to throw the ball and throw it they did.
Defensively they gave up 17 points last night and lost the game. That said if Assante Samuel makes the catch on the sideline at the 2 minute mark it’s game over and people would be talking about Manning the choker and all sorts of other crap. By not making that pick the Giants WR goes on to make an absolutely sick catch on the same game winning drive after Manning escaped a sack (that might have just about ended the game) and you have to give both of them props for that play.
SB highlight reel material.
The Giants lose 6 games this year and the Pats lose one. The ESPN airbags were the ones promoting them as one of the best teams ever and that’s just ridiculous since on any given Sunday one NFL team can beat another. They still beat 17 different teams this year and the one game they lost was to a team they beat (in a close game) only 5 weeks ago. Last night the Giants were playing for a SB while the Pats were playing for “immortality”. They had a great season and while it sucks they lost they played in the SB while everyone else was watching it on TV. 5 SB appearances in 12 years is pretty damned impressive.
I think you are degrading them a bit too much.
I’ll say this for the Giants. They were bad news for other teams on the road this year. They even went to England and won (Granted over the lowly Dolphins) for the ultimate road trip. :)
I won 200$ for the ending score in a pool run by a bunch of Patriots fans (I’m a Giants fan).
They hate me LOL....

The only thing better for me than watching the classless cheater walk off the field prior to the game being over was the patriots* losing to a team with another Manning QB.
Very good post. Unfortunately those who decry the Pat’s won’t give them any credit whatsoever because they are fixated on the non-issue of their “cheating” (when in reality they were only caught with videotape of the first half of the first game of the season - video tape that the Pat’s coaches never got to watch). After that the Pat’s went on to with 18 consecutive games, many against playoff bound teams, with two wins in the playoffs. No mean feat in the era of free agency. They lost in the SB, but just by one or two plays. They can cry all they want about the Pat’s season, and rejoice in their defeat. But that just makes them all bitter.
So, you must know Bill personally? What did he do to you on a personal level? Who is bellyaching here? I guess at the end of the day, Bill is still the head coach of a great team; he is still making millions of dollars in that position; and next year he’ll get another shot at making the playoffs. So, what will you have for next year? Another year of hating someone you do not even know? Do you really have that pathetic of a life that you have to do that to yourself? Hate just takes way too much energy away from you.
#88 will prevail and be the MVD
They actually ragged on the guy wearing a Jets jersey more than the people rooting against The Giants, but only because it was one of those hideous throwback Titans jerseys, and they thought he was Rams fan for the first half hour.
The entire play was absolutely awesome!
I get a laugh out of people wanting head coaches to be likeable as if it’s a requirement. They get paid to win games and that’s pretty much the end of story. So what if he was hugely disappointed last night for losing the game. Who wouldn’t be? It’s not Pee Wee football, it’s the NFL.
***Glowing with pride!***
