OFFICIAL FR SUPER BOWL XLII LIVE THREAD
NEW YORK GIANTS VS NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Sunday February 3, 2008
At University of Phoenix Stadium
Glendale, AZ
6:17PM ET
TV Network: FOX
Thanks for that. Left NYC six years ago and haven’t really kept up with doings in the Apple. When the Jints won their first Supe, Mayor Koch told them to get stuffed re. a parade. Said if they want to play in NJ, let ‘em have their parade there!
And congrats to the Giants. ;)
But, these are the Patriots. Watch, in a few days, it will be revealed Brady had a stress fracture and played anyway, thus giving the NFL pundits and Pat fans a reason to excuse this loss.
And those teams didn't have to cheat.
I stand corrected. Thanks for that.
Watching the replays - remembering this game had very few penalties - a very fast game. Well played actually. Jason Tuck was awesome! I just don’t think the Patriots were used to that kind of pressure on Brady.
Well coached, well executed by the Giants defense.
Tom Brady seemed to be totally out of sinc, tonight.
Bet they are celebrating in NY (and Phoenix).
I am looking for an article about hotel costs in Phoenix for the Super Bowl. If I find it, I’ll post it.
Seems that Super [eight] charged $700 a night, (during Super Bowl) with a pre-pay of FIVE nights in advance. ($3,500 for five nights - even if you only stayed one night.) And, the last Super [eight] I stayed in was so dumpy, (for $75 a night) that I promised myself I would never stay in one again.
Maybe they should go upstate and celebrate. They love their Bills, but most of all they love NY (state that is)... they would cheer the Giants for their win!
The Pats are not going to have a peaceful offseason - their rent-a-thug Moss is about to face serious charges for beating down yet another woman, the NFL will have to acknowledge more past cheating by Bellichek, and they will lose some of their top talent to free agency and age. They will still contend next year but it will never be this rosy for them again, at least not for a long while.
the overtime game
What’s there?
New England Patriots - Overated, cheating losers in the clutch.
It was an improbability drive, which made improbable things happen.
The Patriots played a good game, and wanted it, but the Giants were confident and wanted it even more. Emblematic was the fumble that Woods “had”, but was pulled away before he could fully possess it.
Glad Eli Manning had a good game too. He’s taken a lot of abuse well above and beyond what he’s at times deserved. He’d have been skewered as a goat though if the Patriots had held onto either of those balls they had in their hands at the end.
Congratulations to the Giants!
That is the “Home” of the sports book. :^)
That's the first time I've ever heard of Moss getting physical on or off the field.
“3 SB victories and 1 SB loss (in an 18-1 season) does not make for an also-ran team”
Not so fast, Sparky. In the coming weeks and months, we are going to get to the bottom of just how much the Patriots cheated during those 3 Super Bowls. They sure didn’t look dominant tonight. Maybe they didn’t get to tape the Giants’ walkthrough.
Enjoy watching the Patriots reputation disintegrate.
Imagine the pride that the Manning parents have.
Their one son wins the SBowel MVP last year and this year the other son does it too!
Peyton to his dad: But dad, he is copying me!”
I am a huge Colts fan, so this is the best it could have been without the Colts being there.
