MITT MIFFS W ON BORDERS (Bush exasperated with Romney's hard-line immigration stance)
NY POST ^ | February 2, 2008 | Robert Novak

Posted on 02/02/2008 12:44:12 PM PST by Liz

President Bush has maintained neutrality but privately expresses exasperation with Romney's hard-line stance on immigration......Bush is upset Romney changed his position at the expense of the president's immigration reform. Bush and McCain are not close, but he's grateful for McCain's support on Iraq and immigration.

Florida Gov. Crist's unexpected late endorsement, which helped propel McCain to victory, was an unpleasant surprise to state Republican leaders. Crist had said he was not making an endorsement after shunning Giuliani's courtship and suggested that they also stay neutral. His support for McCain irked Republican activists who generally would have preferred former Romney. Romney carried heavily Republican Collier and Lee counties in SW Florida by substantial margins.....voters McCain will have to win over if nominated.

Reasons to vote against McCain:

#1: Amnesty via McLame/Kennedy

#2: Shredding the 1st Amendment via McLame/Feingold

#3: Force feeding business and consumers to buy into the Global Warming Idiocy via McCain/Lieberman

#4: Nominating this RINO for the Presidency will relegate conservatives to the back benches in the body politic!

McCain's buddies

Don't really understand these folks to have such hate for someone they really don't know and one that they do know is friend of
the left they rather risk life with McCain for 4 years and NO promise
of Pro life Judgees, sofe on Homos for real, and tried to push
open border with the gang of 14.

McCain has never said what McCain will do!

Does anyone really know?

How soon they forget!

Who knew Jorge would do some much damage to the GOP.

Which is precisely why John McCain must never become President. If you thought Bush's compassionate conservatism was a disaster, McQueeg's maudlin, self-righteous demagoguery will make Bush look like Simon Lagree.

The selection of The Trojan Elephant to be their nominee will irrefutabley declare that the GOP has now offically become The Democrat-Lite Party....I can see it now! "Yes, we're bad, but we're not nearly as bad as Hillary!"

...Inspiring, isn't it?

T.S., Georgie.

The next President will have to fix what you screwed up and what you neglected.

Sorta like Reagan after Carter...

Haven’t you noticed, they are all multiple choice? Let’s get past this and decide which of the three is the best candidate for President. I not saying the best President of all time, but the best President of the three that are on the ballot.

If Ron Paul can say “ we should attack Iran “

If he does he gets my vote... maybe.

Isn’t he the only one who has served in the military, and has always been ProLife and AntiIllegals.

"The problem I see with voting for Huckabee at this time is that when he drops out, IF he endorses McCain - ALL of his delegates will go to McCain."

You've gotta know, the Huckster's not running for President, he's running for Veep, on the "McInsane/Huckleberry" ticket.

So, yep, a vote for him is sure enough a vote for McLame.

Not to mention the ruination of the country in a manner we haven't seen since the Peanut Farmer...

“Bush is out to lunch when it comes to immigration.”

Immigration doesn’t look like a defining issue, in the primaries. Evidence: Tancredo.

If I were a GOP office holder running for re-election, I not so sure I’d want President Bush campaigning for me this year

Most of them are sure they don't want Bush campaigning for them. It's just a political reality. When Reagan was in his last year, everybody wanted him campaigning for them.

Nonsense. They all co-opted his position on immigration. Each of them tried to outdo the others in sounding the toughest on immigration.

Just today, the Huckster signed Jeff Sessions' Immigration Pledge.
