McCain Sides With Leading Dems on Global Warming
Crosswalk (appropriate name considering how often McCain crosses the aile to stand with Dims) ^ | Unkown | Nathan Burchfiel

A panel discussion on global climate change Tuesday found Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) staff agreeing with representatives for the leading Democratic presidential contenders. A cap-and-trade system for carbon emissions, they agreed, is the most promising solution to "global warming."

A cap and trade system would involve limits or caps (lower than current levels) on the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions produced by polluters like power plants. But companies able to cut their CO2 output at a low cost would be able to sell their left-over pollution permits to companies facing higher costs.

John Raidt, a policy advisor to McCain, said during a discussion at the left-leaning Brookings Institution that the Arizona Republican is a "foremost proponent of carbon cap-and-trade."

Raidt said McCain supports a cap-and-trade system above taxes on carbon emissions because "cap-and-trade is a market-driven, proven way."

The position put McCain in league with leading Democratic contenders - Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, and former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina - whose policy advisors also participated in the discussion.

I think we’d better start re-educating the guy like we did on border security. If he’s gonna be our next prez, we’d best be lining up to put him to good use. I can’t see breaking him in pieces; let’s just break him in, instead.

You are correct. If they are not called to account, global-warming hoaxers will do more harm to our nation than any Muslims will.

The Republican Party has fallen for it. The RINOs are in charge. I will not assist them.

They'll soon be in charge of nothing. Taking a line from "Braveheart", the RINOs will be "eating from the scraps of Longshanks' (Hillary, Obama, Harry, or Nancy) table".

I remember how content Bob Michel was when he was House Minority Leader.

The volunteers and energy come from the conservative base of the Republican Party, not the country clubbers. The clubbers will cut back on their cash contributions when they see they aren't getting a decent return on their investment.

It looks to me like a Hillary/Obama Presidency will be required to make the nation and republicans understand the disaster of liberalism.

Sometimes you need an enema!

My bumper sticker may be “Hillary Enema”

I am seriously considering voting for Hildebeast if McCain gets the Republican nod.

The reason is simple, if McCain is President he and Republicans will be blamed for everything that goes wrong (and rightfully so) and the Democrats will be lauded for everything that goes right.

If Hildebeast is President, she and the Dems will go after each other and the remaining Republicans will actually set the agenda. Very little will happen and that is a good thing.

I used to say that if John F. Kennedy were to come alive today he would look at the Republicans and exclaim, "Hurrah, the democrats have won!"

And he would look at the democrat party and say, "Oh NO, the Communists have won."

Now if he were to come alive, he would look at both parties and have to say, "Who let the inmates out of the asylums and put them in charge?"

Sort of like the way we white people have stopped using the "n-word", to make it more available for use by black rappers.

The moonbats will be all over her ass on day two if she doesn't announce the immediate withdrawl of our troops from Iraq in her inauguration speech. An opposition to her within her own party will set up immediately, all we have to do is get the Republicans in Congress to quickly shift to their side in opposing her legislation, like we did last fall on the Kucinich impeachment bill.

I'd find it more profitable to tell my congresscritters to oppose Hillary than to oppose McCainiac.

Wake up, people! This guy is way more dangerous than Hillbama because he will get all these Dimocrat bills passed into law. These same bills would be stopped in Congress by determined Republican opposition if sponsored by Dimocrats.

Yeah, keep increasing the cost of manufacturing goods in the United States! Apparently the minimum wage levels and unions are not enough of an incentive to shift jobs abroad.

Just wait til this Global Warming Tax and limits wrecks the US economy and we are all out of a Job. Lets see how much the Americans will enjoy the clean air and polar bears when they are starving in the streets and the only ones with jobs are illegal Aliens. This is the new America McCain will give us. Better start learning Spanish mi Amegos because that’s what our grandchildren will be speaking.
