I thought about that too, but it’s because it is too late for Mitt, as far as they are concerned. They are living on the polls, and it’s pretty clear that according to the media, McCain has it. They are setting the stage already to further demoralize the republican base before they even get to Super Tuesday. These people are not stupid.
When it loses them support and votes from the electorate it does. They have to be subtle in their hypocrisy, and the Harry Reid Mormon thing is anything but subtle. They simply can’t win on this issue.
This is why I have said all along that Mitt has to overcome the fear and unknown factor regarding his faith in the Primary, but it’s won’t matter as much in the general. In addition to that, there is the fatigue factor. At some point, it becomes like the N word in regards to blacks, or the F word in regard to gays.
I have yet to see any of them held to account for hypocrisy. The media overlooks it. Their base doesn't care. Everyone expects it of them. Everyone knows they just say what they have to, to get elected.
I share your concerns, but I suspect that Romney defends himself against such attacks simply by sounding so relentlessly reasonable that the mud does not stick. He may seem somewhat effete, but does not come across as weird. He does not even come across as particularly religious. It is easy to like Romney while rejecting Mormonism.
It’s about time we had some honest and frank righteous indignation. Look at how he shines when he took on McCain over the timetables flap, he didn’t hold back. He would certainly do the same, and likely much more if they try any Mormon politicking.
The h with the media. The h with polls. I am making calls for the next 3 days to support Mitt. At least I can spend my time trying to do something constructive to defeat the Dems by supporting Rommney. I spend too much time on this computer reading things and not enough time doing things.

I don't know about you, but when the fedearl goverment is spending 26% of GDP, and giving us VERY little in return, I say it is time to put a "Businessman" in charge to cut those costs.
When the ecomy booms after that, you can apologize to me for wanting a "businessman" to run our government, and yes, our economy.
Ask Reagan how government policy affects economic prosperity.
>And the MSM would make Romney’s Mormonism the ONLY issue.<
Wouldn’t they have to be very careful not to? Wouldn’t they also finally have to address the-religion-that-must-not-be-named on the other side as well?
Oh, nevermind...
I also want to share something that Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina sent in an email to conservatives today, writing:
“All of the major campaigns have had their moment in the sun, but now, with this race at a critical juncture, conservatives must no longer divide their votes. We must come together and rally behind the real consensus conservative in this race.”
-Sen. Jim DeMint
Nah. Romney is smart. ....and McCain stumbles and fumbles....
It was not a statement to the press, it was insider info...
Of course, they all fear Mitt. Why do you think the media pimps the old man?
Maybe the McCain people are not as sure of him as he’s leading on.
I early voted tonight for Romney. Before I left the house, the phone rang with a poll (? push-poll) from McCain’s election committee.
The questions went something like this:
When voting in the Republican primary, with these candidates on the ballot, who will you be voting for?
Ron Paul - press 1
John McCain - press 2
Mitt Romney - press 3
I pressed 3.
When voting in the Republican primary, with these candidates on the ballot, who will you be voting for?
Ron Paul - press 1
John McCain - press 2
I pressed 1.
Which is most important to you?
War on Terror - press 1
Economy - press 2
Abortion - press 3
Personal Integrity of Candidate - press 4
Can’t remember this one - press 5
Other - press 6
How could they expect anyone to check just one of those?? Anyway the closest thing to ‘all of the above’ was ‘other’ so that’s what I picked.
To hell with McCain and Jack Kemp.
Regards
Mitt list Ping.
I agree with your opinions about what actions should be taken by the next President. McCain also shares those beliefs and has been much stronger on cutting wasteful spending than many other so-called conservatives in the Congress.
The problem with your argument is that these actions are not managing the economy. These actions limit government control of the economy. The fact that Mitt speaks of managing the economy suggests that he may view the President as the CEO of the American economy.
I am encouraged by Mitt’s comments about restoring America’s manufacturing capability, but the fact that he said it in Michigan and nowhere else leads me to question his sincerity on the issue.
In addition to your suggestions, the US Government also needs to lower the corporate tax rate, and they need to place tariffs on products produced abroad. They also need to place heavy taxes on US companies that outsource America’s productivity and national security. Those are the only things the US Government needs to do regarding the economy
We don’t want a Muslum in the White House! He will give us away faster than the globalists!
Can’t you just picture the debates? Obama standing tall next to that pasty, old, sickly, white-man?
Anyone think that McAmnesty would win even ten states?
Muslum = Muslim
I am a realist and so I know what is going on here. Obama and his supporters want to sell us out.
We need to cut taxes on business and workers, and Mitt is the only one left who advocates that. McDole will be nothing but a big-government tax-and-spender. All while he is advancing McDole-Feingold, limiting our free speech.
Post of the day. And with that, I bid everyone a Good Night.
