Obama Says He'd Be Better Against McCain (doesn't want Mitt)
My Way News ^ | Feb 1st, 2008 | NEDRA PICKLER

snip...

Obama advisers have said privately for months that McCain would be their preferred opponent among all those who sought the GOP nomination. They said a race between Obama, 46, and McCain, 71, would provide the starkest contrast between old vs. new, the future versus the past. It's an argument that Obama also has been using against Clinton, but his campaign feels it would be even stronger against McCain.

Time to wake up folks, this is the reality of it. The media has been pushing McCain down our throats for a reason. Mitt is the only hope we have of defeating them.

You know that. I know that. But we have some hardheads that just don't get it.

It would be fun to see McCain knock that goofy smile off Obama’s face for calling him too old. McCain would get arrested and then Mitt gets the nod.

Well he has to put that old lady Clinton to bed first. He does have enough self control to pull McCain’s uncontrollable strings.

If you had watched the debates, you would realize McCain doesn’t have a very good speech-making capability. Obama would make a mincemeat of him in any debate!

Romney would make more of a challenge due to his slick way of presenting his debate, not that I agree with everything he says, but dammit, we need a Republican in the Presidency, and a Republican Congress in control!

That's the damn truth!

I've been saying this ever since McCain's 'rebound' and the MSM's renewed love fest with him ...but, some of these hardheaded people continue to scream all their prejudices against Romney and seem totally blind to what the MSM is trying to do to us. UGH!

Agreed all, and with everyone. Mitt against either of them is the only hope we have.

It’s been several years since we’ve had good debates in this country between the liberal and the conservative (not counting the Reagan Library the other night) ;-)

Mitt is the best hope we have against the other side.

Dude, Romney is already conceding Northeastern states to McCain. He's limited himself to a $3 million ad buy.

Stick a fork in Flipper, he's toast.

So, he won’t concede the conservative states, and I won’t concede the country over to a liberal in sheep’s clothing.

It’s been almost one year since I have heard “stick a fork in him, he’s done” here on FR. In fact, I’ve probably seen that phrase close to a hundred times here.

Thanks for showing us your true colors.

Never give up, never surrender!

McCain can certainly out debate Obama. Didn’t you know he was a “Footsoldier” during the Reagan Revolution and that he’s been endorsed by Jack Kemp and Phil Gramm?

...would provide the starkest contrast between old vs. new, the future versus the past.

The above is true, but another angle just as stark is an Obama-Mitt match-up--in the spotlight of the media glare--would only make Mitt even "younger!" What do I mean? Well, Mitt is 60, but the MSM would constantly hit the rewind button to when he was half that age--30. And what would be so "special" about that?

Think of it: When he was 30, a fully conscientious moral adult, the most important commitment in his life was one where if Obama had been an adult & wanted to come right alongside of him in that commitment, he would have read the sign, "No blacks or Native Americans allowed." (I mean it wasn't even a segregated situation). The MSM & Democrats would have a literal field day with that, trying to tiptoe between not shaming Mitt's commitment but rather trying to shame the GOP as selecting somebody from the corporate countryclub AND "good ole boy" era vs. the ever-so-tolerant Obama & his followers.

Now there's nothing he can do about his past--in this post that's not where I'm going; my going back to 1977 is only mentioned to focus in on 2008. If that match-up were to occur, then in '08 too many '08 issues would get lost as the lens of the MSM & the Dems would keep hitting the rewind button to 1977.

The GOP wants to run an '08 campaign...and just because there may not be any skeletons in Romney's immediate family closet, doesn't mean that the MSM won't expand its zoom upon his wider faith family closet...the dust that was still heavy circa 1977.

My best hope for this year is that Obama defeats the Evil Empire. It will then still be liberal vs. liberal in the general election but, at least, I won’t have to put up with The Witch and her flying monkeys. If McCain is the nominee, I might even vote Obama out of gratitude.

I’m still hoping Dubya will endorse Hillary. That would pretty much ensure that the second string will be the DNC nominee.

Yeah, they can do that, but by opening up a door like that, they also get into Obama’s muslim past and upbringing, his father’s multiple wives, and other closeted stuff the media doesn’t talk about right now. I suspect they won’t go down any such roads, and I also suspect that everyone is already so sick of the race and religion cards being played, it will actually be a good debate over ideologies.

Mitt is the first well spoken conservative to come along in so long, that we need someone like him to give our dwindling party a new voice and bring more people to our side. Reagan did it, and I believe Mitt will do it as well.

Hmm, that would be funny. That’s all it would take to seal her doom. If W was smart, and fell on his own sword, he’s do that to insure her machine is taken down.

I like it!!

BTW, I’ve been thinking, with Fred dropping out, and pretty much out of the picture now, a winning combination that would be absolutely unstoppable would be this ticket:

Romney / Petraeus 2008
