U.S. Embassy NDjamena released the following Warden Message on February 2, 2008:
The U.S. Embassy would like to request that any American citizens who wish to be evacuated should come to the embassy immediately. If you have any questions please call the embassy immediately.
American citizens should closely monitor news media and the U.S. Embassys website. American citizens in Chad are urged to keep family and friends in the U.S. apprised of their whereabouts.
American citizens are urged to register with the Embassy at http://usembassy.state.gov/ndjamena for updated information on travel and security in the region, go to http://travel.state.gov. The U.S. Embassy is located in NDjamena on Avenue Felix Eboue: mailing address is B.P. 413, tel: 251-7009. For emergencies after regular hours or on holidays, please call the Marine guard at 251-4299.
