DeKalb County authorities are investigating the cause of an explosion and fire that damaged stores at a strip mall early today. No injuries are reported in the fire that began with an explosion in a building on Memorial Drive about 1:30 a.m.

Jackson says two buildings and four vehicles were heavily damaged. He says the fire doesn't appear to be suspicious in nature, although the state fire marshal has been called in to help with the investigation.

The upsurge in violence is mainly due to drug dealing - which has seen an increase for gangs in cash and weapons......
