He kept his promises.

He has made promises to us.

McNutcase is a backstabber and in his words: “a dear friend of Hillary Clinton.”

Posting a video of Romney 14-years ago...Quite the improvement!!

Romney has come into his own as of late. His past 2 debate performances have been spectacular.

It’s been posted for the last 12 months...over and over again, along with every other non-conservative or contradictory thing that Romney has ever said. It’s called then and now. Frankly, I look at this video and think, wow, this guy has made progress, he’s grown wiser with age. Reagan was a Democrat in 1962, and a Republican office-holder in 1966. Reagan was a pro-abortion governor in 1967, and a pro-life icon in 1980. Change is possible. But, that’s just my opinion.

Mitt HAS been trying to return to Regan. I wish Mitt would take the gloves off and talk through the media
John ‘McMeximericanada’ McCain is a nightmare.

If it comes down to Clinton or McCain,
I will NOT be voting for president this year.

P.S. Why are you attacking a guy for turning a corner and turning into quite an impressive leader? You don’t see McCain even trying to emulate Reagan or traditional conservative values.

And if you’re posting this flip-flop, I guess you’ve commented on the one McCain made on his amnesty bill in the past 5 days???

A vote for McCain is a vote for the second coming of Lyndon Johnson (father of "The Great Society.") Wouldn't your rather have at least one Republican to choose from next November?

The probability is that McCain will lose the general election. There are tens of millions of conservaties who will not vote for him. His nomination will probably destroy the Republican Party. And if he actually wins the general election, the destruction of the GOP will be a certainty, since the coalition will be irrevocably split asunder.

McConan the "Republican"? Just say NO!

I look at the choices in the Republican Party right now and I only see various flavors of Jerry Ford, Bob Dole, and Jimmy Carter.

Ok that’s it. Mitt can’t be trusted. If he becomes Pres. he will flip flop the US into a monarchy with him as King. Or a Soviet style gulag with him as Czar. We are doomed if he gets in! We must stop this conniving potential potentate!

I don’t see an issue with folks evolving or seeing the light. I grew up in a blue collar union household. I never voted for anyone with an R after their name, Liberal and proud of it into the 80’s. Started listening to Rush in 88 for a laugh, it took a few years then the light came on.I’m the first registered Republican on my side of the family since reconstruction and consider myself very conservative.

I’m not happy about it, but it’s Mitt or sit as far as I’m concerned.

People change over the years. What a person said 10-15 years ago isn’t as relevant as what he is saying and doing NOW. It would be one thing if this were from a couple of years ago. But it isn’t. Romney, to his credit, admits that he has changed his mind on some key issues. It’s not like he was saying something different last Tuesday, like the Klintoons.

I’m with you here. Keep the GOP as narrow as possible and attack anyone who decides that they have changed positions over to our side. If they weren’t born with the right side of issues screw em.

I doubt it, but in any case, he’s right now, and was wrong in 1994.

I like it when people have come to the right side.

If another conservative was available and showed ANY chance of stopping McCain, I’d listen.

But the only people left are Huckabee and Paul. Paul is unacceptable to most for a variety of reasons I don’t expect to change.

And Huckabee? Well it doesn’t look like even a bump from the owner here has actually made people want to support him. If Huckabee can’t get 60% support from FR with the founder endorsing him, there’s no way he can be the guy to pull us together.

But Romney already hit that 60% here. It’s unfortunate the founder opposes him, because his platform is conservative, and he’s got most of the remaining conservative community — but we really need everything.

It’s unfortunate that people believe a brokered convention holds any hope for conservatives. It might rid us of McCain, except that if McCain goes into the convention and has a plurality of delegates but is NOT given the nomination, he will bolt the party, run 3rd-party, or worse simply endorse the democrat and work for them.

McCain has to be beat, not thrown out by manipulation at a convention.

And in any case, the replacement at the convention isn’t going to be Fred, who has proven he can’t get votes, or Hunter, ho proved that Fred wasn’t the worst candidate. It will be a proven vote-getter from a big state.

Perry? Crist? Jeb Bush? Owens? one of the Governors, and probably not a conservative one.

I ping Jim because I mentioned him, out of courtesy, not to draw him into the discussion.

Years ago I worked with a salesman who was remarkably successful in placing his line. He had a number of ‘secrets’ to his trade, but the one I remember most frequently is that he would go in on a sales call and right off the bat list two or three things where his product was inferior to the competition. Then he would say that he was happy to save the potential customer the time and effort it would take to find out about these problems on his own, and now they could get right down to the business of how many or how much of the product the customer wanted to order. Very effective.

I can’t believe the time and effort that both sides have put into pouring over archives looking for inconsistencies in each other’s stands over the years! Often they’re like children who think they’ve caught their parent or their teacher in some gaff and they can’t wait to show how smart they are to have found it.

Sure, some of the discrepancies are out and out lies, like Romney claiming to have been a lifelong hunter, but has never had a hunting license, but in my book who cares? If lying is a problem for you (not you as in jdm, but the Papal ‘You’) then I’m sure you certainly didn’t support or vote for Clinton. If changing your mind and stand on something then I’m sure you didn’t vote for or support Ronald Reagan. The list goes on and on.

Gimme a break!
