#1. Mike Huckabee is a good Conservative.
#2. He is not in favor of open borders or illegal immigration.
#3. He is not in favor of big government.
#4. He is not a tax-and-spender.
#5. He did not pardon Wayne Dumond.
#6. He has made a few mistakes during his tenure as governor of Arkansas - and he has learned his lessons. He is one of us, and he had to learn things as he went along. He certainly has performed better than most of his know-it-all critics could have.
#7. He has been the target of two well-financed propaganda campaigns designed to distort his record and mislead voters. One of those campaigns was funded by Ron Paul. The other campaign is funded by a local guy who has been in a personal feud with Huckabee for a few years. Unfortunately, many folks on this forum have swallowed that propaganda - hook, line and sinker.
#8. Huckabee's main weakness is in the area of foreign policy, and some of his statements during the campaign have proven that. But he's doing his homework, and trying to get up to speed.
I'm endorsing "Uncommitted" for President, and "The Huckster" for Vice-President. It's possible that Huckabee will do fairly well next Tuesday - he's favored to win in Arkansas and Tennessee. He could do surprisingly in Missouri, Oklahoma and Alabama.
If Huckabee is elected President, he'll likely do a few things you'll disagree with - but I think you'd find yourself agreeing more with the Huckabee Administration than the Bush Administration.
