Thr hypothesis is flawed. Romney will not stay in if the numbers do not materialize. He is out after Super Tuesday (he has not invested enough to make it a real contest). That leaves Paul, McCain and Huck. Huck will not win any more states. McCain easily wins the blue states and has a lead in a lot of red states. That gives McCain the delegates he needs.
All Huck succeeds in doing is to make a win for McCain easier.
...and that is the fly in the ointment, isn’t it?
But the thing is, is also a silver lining. The war is going to be a big issue this election, with most Americans wanting the troops to come home. I'd rather have a guy like Paul call for an immediate withdrawal, then to B.S. people with timetables and crap. Again, I don't agree with Paul on Iraq, but he's taking an important issue away from the Democrats, and hopefully that'll sway enough people for the Republicans to win.
I’m quite disgusted with McManiac and don’t trust his temperament. He could lead this country into apocalypse.
Mike seems soft on Illegals and taxes.
What to do?
Problem is “my friend”, is that the conservative movement has attached itself to the GOP, which was not conservative in the first place.
The GOP and the DNC are all elitist liberals.
However, in this race, we have been dumped off the flotilla. Face it, All this broo hah ha over the huck, is just a way to appease the social conservatives, even though they will have to bend over to the GOP or DNC.
We no longer have patriots, we have folks out there picking which apple in the barrel isn’t as rotten as the rest.
I am like most people, I am so sick of bending over, but, I, like many, know that we cannot rescue this country until we let our ONE party in charge know that we are no longer going to play their game. God help us. I pray that an awakening will happen before they take our guns or any rights to assemble away from us.
To me, none of these people running in either party is worth a sh*t. Huck, he is an opportunist that has attached himself to a scum like McCain. When he did that, any chance I may have thought him worthy, was erased.
I know you mean well, and I salute you for trying to have an impact on this debate. Please don’t take to mean that I don’t appreciate it.
When I get to the bottom and have to pick one of those men, I have to come down on the side of the selection being rigged. None of those men are fit to face these issues on my behalf.
I could write paragraphs on it. I could write a short book on it. I have looked at the records of these man and I cannot back them.
Jim has come up with a suggestion to try to force a brokered convention and at the current time that’s the best idea I’ve seen.
I don’t believe the abortion regime in this country will ever change until we change some hearts and minds.
I’m glad Reagan, Bush41, Romney, Jane Roe et. al. (and MYSELF btw) all came over to the Pro-life side.
Post #356 was a good one. Made me think for a minute.
I think that’s more realistic too. The fine points make a difference when it comes to politicians.
I don’t know if you are a he, or a she, or a he-she.
But...its nice to know you FRiend! LOL
He may not be able to. I can try to help bring it about, but failing that I write in.
I agree. Seeing Mr. Giuliani leave the race was a huge victory. Mr. Giuliani was a remarkably bad candidate for the Republican party in all too many ways, including the very practical one that he wasn't even popular enough to garner more than one delegate. (However, I see that the CNN crew have awarded him also with a delegate from Maine; if CNN is correct, that would bring his delegate count to two.) Mr. Giuliani held sixth place in four contests, fourth in two, and managed as high as third place only once.
As to the remaining candidates, well, there's not a one that would have been my first or second choice, but at least on the Second Amendment, we still have two candidates with excellent records, Governor Huckabee and Representative Paul. I have serious concerns about some of their other positions, but I would find it hard to vote for any anti-gun candidates, and both Governor Romney and Senator McCain are anti-gun in my book.
Calm down, it was a cut and paste from his website. Someone posted a cut and paste from Romney’s website, so I thought I would do the same.
You forget the veto pen.
IMHO, JimRob is just messing around with us FReepers, getting us excited and talking.
A lot of FReepers really think he is serious about a brokered convention (it is interesting), and even more FReepers think he is serious about supporting Huck.
Their minds were numb after reading the first 6 reasons for voting for Huck and No. 7 was just glared over, even though the title says to be sure to read No. 7
And I give you credit for reading all the posts. You sure have persistence.

Thank you for your additional comments. I understand where you are coming from..

Romney and his “Washington is broken” mantra seems to be treating America like another Bain Capital take over - flip it at any cost - including selling our souls to China to make him look like Midas.
God bless you Jim.
Tells me more about the man within than I ever wanted to know:

It’s not the flip or the flop, it’s the abortion activism. Even campaigning for allowing underage girls to murder their unborn children with a judge’s permission, with or without parental consent. A man who can say the things he said during his campaign for governor is no conservative. No Republican. No Christian. Not even a man as far as I’m concerned. Just an evil being. Might as well be Ted Kennedy asking for our vote. No thanks. No sale.
