“I with you on the brokered convention.”
Can a person not on the ballot be drafted, i.e., Fred?
Anyone can be drafted, but I am not sure Fred is interested. He would still have to campaign and he doesn’t care much for that.
Sure, remember you really aren't voting for the nominee, any more than you vote for the candidate in the general election. In the primary you are voting for delegates to the party's national convention. Generally, in contrast to the electoral college, they are committed to vote for "their" candidate on the fist ballot. If no one gets a majority on that ballot, they are free to vote for anyone they wish. It gets messy.
But it may be the only hope.
Local FOX news just on.
Called for McCain, 36% Romney 31%, Rudy 15%, Huckabee and Paul (also ran).
News Alert (from AP via local Fox station) says Rudy *will* endorse McCain. That will probably make the difference.
I can't get too depressed that McCain won, because I'm not exactly exited at the notion of Romney winning the nomination either. "A pox on both their houses", kinda sums up my feelings tonight.
